About The Position

We are looking for a Director, Order to Cash to optimize our current processes from customer set-up to order to invoice closure through cash applications. The goal is to value stream map the current process and identify improvement activities across the entire enterprise (which goes beyond Finance to include customer service, customer master, credit, collections, billing, and Treasury). A successful candidate is a demonstrated leader in the Order-to-Cash space within a Shared Service environment and can turn-around existing back-offices processes into a stream-lined organization with enhanced customer focus. Candidate has a proven history of building high caliber teams. Ideal candidate enjoys challenges while balancing day-to-day operations, while also identifying innovative ways to drive meaningful change. As the multi-country process owner, in this role the candidate will be responsible for creating a seamless customer experience that is supported by efficient processes. They will be responsible for developing metrics to identify trends, process improvements, and strategic opportunities. They will partner closely with TBC Brands, NTW and Franchise leadership on initiatives to improve working capital. Candidate should have a history of influencing cross-functions partners and leadership as well as driving initiatives to completion. Candidate will report directly to the Sr. Director of Finance Operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, and related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive, demonstrated Order to Cash experience.
  • 10+ years in a related progressive management role with end-to-end process accountability in multi country scope.
  • Experience developing multi country Order to Cash governance, policies, and processes, with a strong focus on internal controls.
  • Experience building out shared service capabilities, including KPI reporting.
  • Experience leading large teams, developing talent, and holding team members accountable.
  • Proven ability to implement continuous improvement practices including identifying root cause, creating action plan, and implementing plan with full support of all parties/departments impacted.
  • Ability to build trust cross functionally with all levels of the organization and effectively communicate/influence to drive strategy & vision.
  • Strong analytical background to understand how to leverage data to influence business decisions.
  • Strong grasp of systems and transactional detail as well as the ability to maintain a high-level contextual view will be paramount.
  • Form strategic partnerships, having a voice in new initiatives or changes that impact the Order to Cash process.
  • Keep leadership & internal business partners informed of portfolio performance, risks, mitigation strategies and opportunities through timely & effective communication.
  • Support the implementation of new enterprise wide and finance related systems.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor the team using industry best practices and expertise to help them grow and achieve performance and productivity targets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and govern United States, Canada and Mexico revenue and receivables accounting processes with the appropriate people, policies and controls that will drive business growth while maintaining compliance with accounting regulations. This will require documenting multiple policies for TBC and ensuring alignment among Mexico and the U.S.
  • Ensure that desk-top procedures are documented, assessable and reviewed annually across the organization.
  • Value-stream map each part of the OTC process specific to Finance – billing, credit, collections, and cash applications to identify ideal state. Assist with up-stream and down-stream process mapping to ensure seamless hand-offs with the Finance organization.
  • Lead monthly close and reporting processes for receivables and publish timely reporting & analysis to management & key stakeholders. This includes communication to the Sales Executive leads and recommending actions from a Legal and outside collection point of view. Follow through to conclusion to minimize P&L impact.
  • Establish key metrics, optimize processes, and standardize ways of working to drive automation and efficiency, bringing the 75+ US & Mexico team members together to operate as one shared service team.
  • Establish quarterly OTC review board which reports progress towards goals and assists with company-wide corrective actions.
  • Centralize & standardize Order to Cash processes in United States, Canada and Mexico, ensuring proper internal controls. This will require a thorough review of all invoicing processes within TBC and may mean bringing additional jobs into the billing function from outside Finance such as Customer Service.
  • Implement controls testing process in conjunction with Internal Control team. Ensure that issues are mitigated, and improvement processes are documented in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate the organization and drive towards a shared service organization located in a low-cost country or with an outside service provider. Goal is to reduce the current headcount of almost eighty people to forty people and to reduce the overall budget by 60%.
  • Function as the conduit with outside provider and TBC leadership.
  • Implement effective and efficient collections strategies, processes, and workflows to accelerate incoming payments.
  • Choose automation tools in cash applications that reduce the number of touch points and labor content.
  • Create BOTs and other tools that result in a touchless cash application process.
  • Ensure that unapplied cash at the end of the month are at minimal levels.
  • Redefine our credit procedures, to minimize risk while ensuring creditworthy customers have the availability needed to drive sales growth.
  • Streamline workflows to ensure credit applications are approved and in place within 48 hours. This will assist the sale team will accelerating revenue growth.
  • Ensure processes are aligned among Mexico and U.S.
  • Assist sales with end of month sales initiatives based on customer open credit opportunities.
  • Drive working capital improvements, resulting in a reduction of days sales outstanding.
  • Ensure processes are aligned among Mexico and U.S.
  • Create escalation process to ensure that parties outside of Finance are assisting with late customers.
  • Drive bad debt down by 50%.
  • Understand what other organizations within the U.S. and Mexico perform billing operations.
  • Work with HR and respective organizations to centralize billing operations. Streamline process and reduce headcount.
  • Document process and align among Mexico and U.S.
  • Identify automation processes and implement solutions.
  • Move customers away from cash and checks to more efficient payment options such as credit card, wires, and ACH.
  • Other duties as assigned.
