About The Position

The position will require working closely as a business partner with management and multiple functions including Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain and R&D to develop and implement strategic, operational, and process improvements that will drive business performance and margin growth. He/she will directly report to the Finance Director NSA and be located at the Madison, IN manufacturing site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Previous experience as Manufacturing Plant Controller
  • Proved experience in standard costs accounting system.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment using ERP systems.
  • 10+ years’ experience in a professional finance/business environment.
  • Business-oriented financial professional.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, proven results orientation, and ability to deliver quality, on-time results are key.
  • Significant ability in financial modeling with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Ability to maintain honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Must be knowledgeable in financial accounting and reporting.
  • Possess excellent analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Be skilled in ability to effectively communicate accounting and financial information to all levels across the organization.
  • Have a sense of urgency in their delivery and flexibility in terms of their style and approach.
  • Must be a strong leader and change agent with high integrity and proven success managing and developing a team.
  • Take full ownership and accountability for their group performance and will always strive towards continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably have either CPA and/or CMA or an MBA.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Operations and Supply Chain leaders to drive process improvements, establish rigor and action with operational scorecard/metrics that will improve productivity and improve profitability.
  • Reporting/analyzing monthly financial performance, preparing budgets and forecasts, working closely with plant management in analyzing, improving and measuring operational performance.
  • Partner with plant leadership teams to identify opportunities that will increase productivity and deliver cost savings.
  • Enhance the processes and tools used to deliver management reporting to provide relevant, timely financial information to support decision-making, aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including revenue, cost of sales, expenses, capital expenditures, free cash flow, and other relevant areas.
  • Provide commentary and presentations of financial performance trends and root cause analysis of forecast/plan variances.
  • Oversee cost accountant to maintain and improve standard costing processes
  • Support planning to understand capacity versus demand in forecast and strategic plan processes.
  • Improve inventory accuracy through monitoring and enforcement of cycle count program.
  • Develop and utilize robust analytical tools to identify areas for operational efficiency improvements and cost savings.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing events, Gemba walks and other cost reduction initiatives.
  • Provide mentoring, leadership, and development within the finance team.
  • Ability to effectively interact when dealing with internal and external personnel.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality with all information obtained.
