About The Position

The Director, Operations is responsible for overseeing and optimizing operational performance within their area or region. This role involves ensuring the effective execution of services, maximizing workforce and asset productivity, maintaining organizational and safety standards, and driving exceptional customer satisfaction through leadership and strategic execution.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant leadership experience in Operations, Logistics, or Transportation.
  • Experience managing budgets, multi-site operations, and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong strategic planning, financial analysis, and operational execution skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and operational systems/tools.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance (DOT, OSHA, etc.).
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and hold teams accountable.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of five years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the Vice President, Operations to contribute to annual budgets and provide insights on operational impacts to financial results.
  • Accountable for achieving financial targets and operational objectives aligned with the budget.
  • Ensures compliance with internal processes and drives the adoption of standardized work tools to promote efficiency and consistency.
  • Leads change initiatives across the region, aligning teams with updated policies and standards.
  • Monitors operational KPIs and financial performance, ensuring accountability for results.
  • Engages with cross-functional leadership to identify and resolve operational challenges.
  • Prepares and contributes to financial and operational reports as needed.
  • Identifies regional growth opportunities and collaborates with commercial teams to support customer acquisition strategies.
  • Provides operational insight during acquisition or service expansion discussions.
  • Oversees execution of processes to support strategic growth, acquisition integration, and improved service delivery.
  • Partners with commercial and customer advocacy teams to ensure high levels of service and resolve key customer concerns.
  • Holds teams accountable for meeting service expectations and maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Aligns team goals with broader divisional and organizational priorities to promote high performance.
  • Leads regular team meetings to communicate initiatives, review priorities, and ensure goal alignment.
  • Partners with HR and Recruiting to address staffing needs and support talent acquisition efforts.
  • Manages employee relations and ensures compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Drives employee engagement, performance, and accountability through leadership and coaching.
