About The Position

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Director, Operations Leadership & Learning. This hybrid position will be located in Raynham, MA (USA). Alternate Hybrid locations may be considered at Raritan, NJ (USA); West Chester, PA (USA); Palm Beach Gardens, FL (USA); Raynham, MA (USA); Warsaw, IN (USA); Zuchwil, Switzerland or Loughbeg, Ringaskiddy Ireland. Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes. Reporting into the Strategy & Transformation group within global operations, the Director, Leadership & Learning is responsible for shaping and delivering enterprise leadership development and learning strategies across the global operations functional landscape that build critical capabilities, strengthen leadership pipelines, and support business transformation across DePuy Synthes. This role partners closely with senior leaders, Human Resources, and business stakeholders to design scalable, data‑driven leadership development programs and learning pathways that enable performance, engagement, and long‑term growth. The position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by attracting key talent and advancing leadership effectiveness during a pivotal period of organizational evolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field).
  • 10-12 years of progressive experience in global leadership positions in Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, HR, or related functions.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and leading large‑scale leadership, employee engagement, corporate culture, and/or learning initiatives.
  • Proven ability to influence and partner with senior leaders and cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Strong people leadership experience, including coaching, developing, and leading individuals and leaders.
  • Experience supporting leadership development in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Strong strategic thinking, execution, and change leadership capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience managing external partners and vendors.
  • Results-oriented leader with experience driving high impact, high visibility programs and initiatives.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred (e.g., Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, MBA, or related discipline).
  • Expertise in adult learning principles, leadership frameworks, and learning measurement methodologies.
  • Experience with digital learning platforms, learning analytics, and modern learning technologies.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, and/or project management certifications preferred
  • Leadership development, coaching, or learning certifications preferred (e.g., ICF, SHRM, ATD).
  • Background in MedTech, healthcare, life sciences, or similarly regulated industries.
  • additional languages preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and execution of enterprise leadership development programs and functional learning strategies aligned to DePuy Synthes Supply Chain & Operations business priorities and talent strategy.
  • Design and oversee functionally focused global leadership development programs across levels, including senior leader and emerging leader populations.
  • Partner with senior business, HR, and training leaders to identify functional capability gaps and translate them into targeted learning solutions.
  • Lead the global training and certifications process to upskill workforce in critical operational skillsets and methodologies, e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, project management, change management
  • Establish and govern learning frameworks, curricula, and standards to ensure consistency, quality, and scalability.
  • Drive innovation in learning delivery through blended, digital, and experiential approaches, leveraging external vendors and internal expertise.
  • Measure and evaluate leadership and learning effectiveness using data and insights to continuously improve programs and demonstrate business impact.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships to ensure cost‑effective and high‑quality learning solutions and leadership development programs.
