About The Position

The Director of Wellness role develops and directs assigned programs, projects, and services that facilitate a supportive institutional approach to analyzing and fostering student well-being and basic needs across the CNM student population. The position designs and implements the strategic direction for Wellness CNM and makes recommendations on related policies, procedures, and system improvements. The director works collaboratively with students, academic units, Enrollment Management and Student Success, and community partners, assigned programs and services encompass a wide range of support to address diverse student needs within the population.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that is above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis

  • Experience leading wellness, health promotion, or student support programs in higher education or a community setting, with knowledge of student wellness trends, trauma-informed practices, and holistic well-being.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments (e.g., student affairs, counseling, health services, academics) and community partners to design, implement, and assess inclusive wellness initiatives for diverse student populations.
  • Leadership, assessment, and planning skills , including supervising professional staff, managing budgets or grants, and using data to evaluate and improve wellness programs aligned with institutional goals.

Responsibilities

  • Directs, plans, coordinates, and oversees all aspects of Wellness CNM programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Takes charge of establishing and implementing comprehensive goals, budgets, and operational procedures for Wellness CNM functions and operations, fostering efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery.
  • Designs and executes robust systems for data assessment, collection, maintenance, and analysis, generating insightful interim progress reports, final evaluations, and other project-related information crucial for informed decision-making.
  • Spearheads the development and participation of CNM behavioral intervention and threat assessment teams, optimizing support structures and interventions for at-risk students referred to the Dean of Student’s Office for mental health concerns.
  • Conducts thorough department and program assessments and evaluations to gauge effectiveness, promptly implementing corrective measures to enhance overall performance and outcomes.
  • Leads the orchestration of experience surveys and evaluations to gather invaluable feedback from students utilizing Wellness CNM services, utilizing data insights to continually enhance service quality and student satisfaction.
  • Provides expert consultation and training to faculty and staff on crisis intervention and student care protocols, ensuring seamless referrals and maintaining continuity of care across services.
  • Takes an active role in designing and refining staffing structures and organizational frameworks to optimize departmental efficiency, overseeing recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of departmental staff.
  • Drives comprehensive research, planning, implementation, and evaluation of student well-being initiatives across all facets of the college community, fostering a supportive and nurturing environment for student success.
  • Serves as the primary liaison, representing Wellness CNM across various institutional divisions, committees, and to the broader student body and public, effectively advocating for student wellness needs.
  • Provides strategic guidance and advisement to the CNM Dean of Students and Conduct Officer in critical situations pertaining to student mental health and basic needs, facilitating timely and appropriate interventions and support mechanisms.
  • Champions the design and execution of training initiatives aimed at prevention and student support, equipping staff and stakeholders with essential tools and resources to address student well-being challenges effectively.
  • Assumes responsibility for the comprehensive management and oversight of diverse programs, ensuring strict adherence to college, state, and federal policies and regulations.
  • Develops robust program plans and communication strategies, meticulously tracking project timelines, milestones, risks, and deliverables utilizing industry-standard project management tools.
  • Manages program logistics, including outreach, recruitment, course scheduling, and event planning, optimizing operational efficiency and ensuring seamless program execution.
  • Exercises fiscal stewardship by meticulously overseeing budgets, managing funding sources, monitoring expenditures, and preparing detailed budget reports and analyses.
  • Proactively explores opportunities to enhance revenue streams and secure additional funding, coordinating and assisting with proposal writing and development efforts.
  • Fosters meaningful community partnerships and expands outreach efforts, serving as a conduit between constituents and resources, and cultivating relationships at local, state, and national levels.
  • Provides guidance, mentorship, and supervision to program team members and external contractors, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Embraces a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation, consistently seeking opportunities to optimize program effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  • Fulfills any additional duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in meeting evolving organizational needs and priorities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
