Director of the Program for Active Living (PAL) - Kinesiologist
About The Position
The Village of Stouffer Mills has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Program for Active Living to join their team. This role involves supporting and embracing the resident-centered social culture and delivering the highest quality of care to residents. The Director will work as a key member of the Village Leadership Team and neighbourhood multidisciplinary teams to understand residents’ needs and advocate for residents to actively participate in decisions about their physical care. Requirements
- Degree in Kinesiology with a focus on psychomotor behaviour and exercise rehabilitation
- Member in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in a Long-Term Care setting
- Current Heart Save Level of CPR
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction for the development, and evaluation of comprehensive operational policies and programs for the Village PAL program
- Coordinates with external stakeholders including the LHIN regarding OT/PT services, vendor relations for application resident equipment, external service providers for additional therapy/exercise programs
- Provide leadership, support and evaluates PAL programs and projects including restorative, restraints, falls, care conferences, and research to practice initiatives
- Participates in Village interdisciplinary team meetings or committees as appropriate, while communicating and working in collaboration with other interdisciplinary team members
- Provide leadership to the PAL Coordinator and supports PAL Students, Volunteers and contracted therapy services who assist with the PAL program
- Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
- Understand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the role
