About The Position

The Director of the Academic Resource Center provides strategic leadership and oversight for all services and operations within the College’s Academic Resource Center, including library services, tutoring, study center support, teaching and learning resources, and instructional technology support related to D2L. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and evaluating departmental services to ensure alignment with the College’s mission and commitment to student success. The Director supervises, trains, and evaluates personnel; leads strategic initiatives that support academic programs and innovative teaching and learning practices across in-person, online, and digital environments; and serves as a key resource to faculty and the instructional community on D2L, curriculum design and development, course and program outcomes, assessment practices, universal design, and high-impact learning strategies. This role also ensures a safe, supportive, and effective environment for all Academic Resource Center patrons and staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus no less than 18 graduate credits in a specialized educational field (learning and curriculum, special education, adult education)
  • Minimum of 5 years of higher education experience which includes curriculum design and college level teaching.
  • Demonstrated experience in instructional design
  • Proficiency with current digital learning tools, development methodologies, and learning management systems.
  • 2–3 years of documented experience in student support services or programming
  • 3–5 years of successful college-level teaching experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in learning outcomes assessment, grant writing and reporting, and budget management are essential.
  • Strong problem-solving, time management, organizational, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, community partners, and other educational institutions.

Nice To Haves

  • A Master’s degree will be required for this position after a designated period of time.
  • Master’s degree in Education, Digital Media, Resource Management.
  • Experience with D2L
  • Experience with Perkins Collaborative Resource Network and TRIO support services programming.
  • A strong understanding of services and programs recognized nationally for supporting student persistence and success in higher education.
