About The Position

The Director of Technology supports the mission of St. Thomas More Catholic School by providing leadership, oversight, and strategic planning for the school's technology infrastructure and instructional technology initiatives. This position is responsible for managing the school's technology framework, supporting staff and student technology needs, maintaining secure and effective technology systems, and promoting the meaningful integration of technology to enhance teaching and learning. The Director of Technology collaborates with administration, faculty, staff, and external technology partners to ensure that technology resources are reliable, secure, and aligned with the educational mission and goals of the school.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Educational Technology, Computer Science, Education, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience managing school technology systems and supporting instructional technology initiatives preferred.
  • Experience with Student Information Systems, particularly Sapphire, preferred.
  • Experience working with students and faculty in a school setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain the school's technology framework, including hardware, software, networks, and instructional technology systems.
  • Manage and monitor the school's network infrastructure, firewall systems, and device management systems to ensure security, reliability, and compliance with diocesan policies and best practices.
  • Coordinate technology support and services with East Coast Network Services and other external technology vendors as needed.
  • Maintain technology inventories, replacement schedules, and documentation of all school technology assets.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies to support instructional and operational needs.
  • Manage all staff and student technology devices, including laptops, desktops, tablets, and other educational technology resources.
  • Configure, deploy, update, and troubleshoot devices and software.
  • Manage school printers, copiers, and related equipment, ensuring proper operation and maintenance.
  • Provide timely technical support and troubleshooting for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Maintain user accounts, permissions, and access to school technology systems.
  • Support and maintain classroom technology, including interactive displays, projectors, sound systems, cameras, and other instructional technology tools.
  • Assist teachers with technology integration and classroom implementation of educational applications and programs.
  • Troubleshoot technology issues that impact instruction and ensure minimal disruption to learning.
  • Manage and support the school's Student Information System, Sapphire, including user access, data management, reporting, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist administration and staff with student data reports, scheduling, grading systems, and communication features within Sapphire.
  • Ensure data security and confidentiality in accordance with diocesan policies and applicable privacy regulations.
  • Provide ongoing professional development and training for faculty and staff on educational applications, instructional technology tools, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Support teachers in implementing new technology initiatives and instructional strategies.
  • Provide training on technology platforms, digital citizenship, artificial intelligence (AI) tools, and other emerging technologies that support student learning and staff productivity.
  • Serve as a resource for teachers in identifying and implementing technology that enhances instruction and student engagement.
  • Collaborate with administration to develop and implement technology goals aligned with the school's strategic plan and mission.
  • Participate in school leadership initiatives related to instructional technology, cybersecurity, and digital learning.
  • Develop and maintain technology policies, procedures, and acceptable use guidelines.
  • Support school events, assessments, and programs requiring technology assistance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
