The Director of Teaching Excellence at Fletcher Technical Community College, within the Academic Affairs & Initiatives department, is an Unclassified - Administrative/Staff position. This role is responsible for maintaining performance standards and pursuing goals that align with the college's mission, vision, and values. The position provides a framework for initiatives aimed at enhancing teaching practices, curriculum design, and assessment strategies. Key responsibilities include designing and facilitating professional development programs for faculty, offering individualized mentoring and coaching, supporting instructional design, and providing training for new faculty onboarding. The Director will guide academic programs in developing assessment and evaluation plans, assist in interpreting educational data, and conduct assessment trainings. This role also involves coordinating the administration of general education assessment tools, serving on the Curriculum Committee, and collaborating on program-level student learning outcomes and assessment plans. Additionally, the Director will oversee curriculum map reviews, collaborate on comprehensive annual program reviews, collect and analyze departmental data for accreditation, and manage the physical facilities and budget for the Center of Teaching Excellence and eLearning. The position includes supervising staff, evaluating and training educational technologies, fostering a culture of respect, and participating in college activities and committees. The Director will represent the college professionally and adhere to all college policies and required trainings.
