About The Position

Handspring is a virtual mental health clinic for children, young adults, and families. We are seeking our first dedicated recruiting leader, a Director of Talent Acquisition & Recruiting Operations, to build a recruiting engine that hires providers, primarily therapists, across a growing number of states without sacrificing quality or speed. This role will own talent acquisition end-to-end, including strategy, systems, execution, and reporting. The goal is to build both an outbound engine run by recruiters and an inbound engine powered by a strong employer brand that makes Handspring an attractive workplace for therapists. The position requires partnering with growth, clinical, and operations leadership to translate company goals into hiring targets. Requirements

  • 7+ years in talent acquisition, including experience building and scaling a recruiting function from scratch.
  • Experience managing recruiters and leading a team to consistently hit hiring targets.
  • Strong analytical and operational mindset; ability to think in terms of funnels, conversion rates, and capacity models.
  • Hands-on outbound operator experience, including using emerging tech and tools to identify qualified candidates, building multitouch cadences, and writing personalized outreach messages that get responses.
  • Comfort operating with limited resources and building in ambiguity.
  • Must be based in the United States and have U.S. work authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Own the hiring function, leading recruiting for clinical roles against monthly therapist hiring targets, and managing and growing the recruiting team as volume increases.
  • Build the recruiting infrastructure, including standing up the recruiting tech stack and workflows (ATS, sourcing, scheduling, reporting) and creating repeatable playbooks for sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offers.
  • Make hiring measurable by building the analytics layer and a single source of truth for pipeline health, funnel conversion, source effectiveness, cost-per-hire, and recruiter performance, and tying hiring outcomes to company growth goals.
  • Plan capacity by translating the growth plan into a hiring plan, aligning pipeline with patient demand, and reporting on new patient volume absorption.
  • Raise candidate quality by partnering with the clinical team to define qualified candidates, reviewing the pipeline together, and sharpening the sourcing strategy.
  • Build the employer brand to make Handspring the employer of choice for therapists, driving an increasing share of inbound hires.
