About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Director of Surgical Services to lead and oversee surgical operations within a high-volume acute care environment. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care through effective management of clinical operations, staffing, budgeting, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will drive excellence in patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and team performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required
• Minimum 3+ years of acute care Surgical Services experience
• Minimum 1+ year of Director-level experience in Surgical Services
• Strong leadership, operational, and strategic planning skills

Nice To Haves

• Master’s Degree (MSN, MHA, or related field)
• Experience managing large teams in a high-volume surgical environment
• Proven success in quality improvement and operational efficiency initiatives

Responsibilities

• Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality patient care across surgical services
• Implement evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes
• Maintain compliance with regulatory, legal, and accreditation standards
• Optimize patient throughput and care coordination
• Oversee daily operations, staffing, and workforce planning
• Lead, mentor, and develop leadership team and staff
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Develop and implement policies and procedures
• Drive initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and service quality
• Promote a patient-centered culture across all service lines
• Identify opportunities for service line expansion and operational growth
• Collaborate with executive leadership and physicians to enhance programs
• Manage departmental budgets, forecasting, and financial performance
• Monitor labor productivity and control operating expenses
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality care
