About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Director of Surgical Services to lead and oversee surgical operations in a dynamic healthcare environment. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care through effective management of clinical operations, staffing, financial performance, and strategic growth initiatives.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree required
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required
Minimum 3+ years of Surgical Services experience
Minimum 1+ year of leadership experience (Director or strong Manager level)
Strong leadership, operational, and strategic planning skills

Nice To Haves

Master’s Degree (MSN, MHA, or related field)
Experience in a large or complex healthcare setting
Proven track record in quality improvement and operational efficiency

Responsibilities

Implement evidence-based practices to improve patient safety and clinical outcomes
Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards
Monitor operational efficiency, quality metrics, and cost management
Oversee equipment maintenance and readiness for accreditation reviews
Lead initiatives to enhance patient experience and satisfaction
Establish accountability for high-quality service delivery
Utilize feedback and benchmarking to drive continuous improvement
Foster a positive, collaborative work culture aligned with organizational values
Support staff development, engagement, and retention
Provide coaching, performance management, and leadership development
Ensure appropriate staffing levels and talent alignment
Collaborate with leadership and physicians to expand surgical services
Identify opportunities for new service lines and program growth
Drive innovation and operational excellence
Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
Monitor departmental financial performance and productivity
Manage labor costs and identify cost-saving opportunities
