About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Director of Surgical Services (RN) for a 13-week contract position in Yuma, Colorado. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing perioperative and surgical services while supporting clinical quality, operational efficiency, staff leadership, and continued growth of the surgical program. The ideal candidate will bring strong perioperative nursing leadership, AORN standards knowledge, surgical-services operations experience, and demonstrated success growing surgical caseloads. There are no nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements.

Requirements

• Active Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) License Required.
• Minimum 3–5 Years of Proven Perioperative Nursing Experience Required.
• Minimum 3–5 Years of Proven Leadership Experience Required.
• Current BLS/BCLS, ACLS, and CNOR Certifications Required.
• Strong Knowledge of AORN Standards, Current Clinical Technology, Information Technology, and Surgical Services Operations Required.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and operational leadership for Surgical Services and perioperative nursing operations.
• Lead and support surgical staff while promoting patient safety, quality care, efficient workflow, and strong team performance.
• Apply AORN standards, recommended practices, and current perioperative clinical technology throughout surgical operations.
• Monitor and improve surgical-service performance while identifying opportunities to increase and advance surgical caseload volume.
• Utilize clinical and information technology, organizational skills, and interdisciplinary collaboration to support effective surgical program management.
