About The Position

The primary function of the Director of Supportive Housing is to ensure that all supportive housing services operate smoothly. This role involves the coordination and administration of all aspects of service delivery to agency clients and continuous quality improvement activities. These activities ensure contractual and accreditation compliance, cost-effective services, and positive outcomes that promote client wellness and recovery. The position also includes financial oversight of various direct report departments.

Requirements

  • Masters degree plus 6 years’ experience in a human service private, nonprofit; or a Bachelors degree with a minimum of 8 years in management experience required.
  • Demonstrated organizational management skills, including effective leadership skills.
  • Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Managed care experience.
  • Demonstrated fiscal and personnel management skills.
  • Effective planning, assessment and problem resolution skills.
  • Excellent computer, visionary and community collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health and Substance use, Housing First Model, HUD regulations; and homeless delivery systems a plus.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in using computer applications, including standard Windows applications.
  • Possess and maintains a valid drivers’ license, reliable vehicle, current registration and insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day to day activities of the supportive housing managers and/or case managers including regular supervision meetings, maintenance of formal supervision notes, review of records, and oversight of duties.
  • Management and oversight of organizational client activities, including oversight of the development and implementation of client councils, retreats and agency consumer initiatives, and any corresponding re-definitions of staff roles.
  • Function in a leadership role in maintaining and refining the agency’s philosophy of partnership.
  • Oversight the client grievance process; function as the agency arbitrator in grievances presented above the manager level.
  • Participate in the agency volunteer and student intern program, including identification of need, screening and placement.
  • Review of the service operations manual on an annual basis and make recommendations for revisions.
  • External service coordination activities with other provider organizations.
  • Administrative oversight of all agency owned supportive housing projects, including compliance with contractual obligations; service and system policy changes; establishment of departmental standards; long-range departmental goals and compliance with established agency standards and policies.
  • Works with management and departments heads to establish organization-wide compliance with privacy standards; assumes co-leadership role in the HIPAA Compliance Team’s activities; coordinates accommodation of existing privacy laws, policies and procedures.
  • Guides and assists in the identification of privacy issues and recommends implementation, maintenance and revision of policies and procedures in coordination with organization management and administration, including HIPAA Compliance Team.
  • Oversight of agency owned supportive housing projects for health and safety, security and condition of the physical areas and equipment used by the team and client; responsible for informing property management and facilities of all issues.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of applicable state and federal privacy laws and accreditation standards; reviews and implements changes in privacy standards and requirements to ensure organizational compliance.
  • Reports status of privacy initiatives, policies and procedures to the Administrative team, as required; serves as the information privacy consultant to the organization for all departments and appropriate entities; provides information in response to external inquiries regarding the entity’s privacy policies and procedures or notice of information practices.
  • Hiring and termination of staff being supervised with final approval of the CEO; disciplinary action (verbal & written warning) of the staff being supervised in collaboration with the Human Resources Department.
  • Adheres to all Chrysalis Center, Inc.’s policies, procedures and standards at all times.
  • Perform other tasks assigned.
  • Function as leader with oversight of all agency owned supportive housing services.
  • Work in collaboration with Property Manager to ensure safe and well maintained housing with minimal vacancy rates for each project.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of agency policies and procedures.
  • Attend and participate in all required meetings.
  • Perform other tasks consistent with the job purpose and deemed necessary by the Supervisor.
