About The Position

The Senior Friendship Centers has an opening for a dynamic Director of Supportive Aging Services. This is a critical role dedicated to enhancing the lives of older adults across our communities. Reporting to the Vice President of Contracted Programs, this role leads the Case Management Department and directs the delivery of high-quality services that directly improves the well-being of vulnerable older adults. This includes but isn’t limited to; assessments, in-home care, and compliance with federal, state, and other regulations governing our programs.   • Requires a bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Human Service, Psychology or related field, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, ability, and skills to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Minimum of three years supervisory and administrative experience, preferably with a non-profit organization.
  • Experience in administration of grants and contracts and management of personnel and service delivery.
  • Experience with budgeting and reporting.
  • Ability to independently compose and edit detailed reports, letters, and other materials.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Must have experience using computer software applications for management, financial and statistical reporting.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance are required for all work-related travel.
  • Satisfactory clearance of a fingerprint-based, level II background screening and pre-employment substance abuse testing is required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Direct Case Management Department for all Senior Friendship Centers counties and ensure client needs and grant/contract requirements are met.
  • Assist with the determination of service needs for grant application and monitoring.
  • Assure service levels are provided in relation to available funding.
  • Work to achieve programmatic and fiscal goals.
  • Responsible for monitoring Case Management productivity, outcome measures, and in-home vendor services.
  • Lead quality assurance efforts to ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with DOEA requirements and fully supports billing and reimbursement.
  • Work with Chief of Staff of VP Contracted Services to actively manage contract spending and determine needs for request of funding shifts among funding sources and counties.
  • Oversee and manage vendor contracts related to contracted services and spending, ensuring contractual compliance, performance standards, and alignment with program requirements.
  • Develop programs and services relevant to the frail elder population.
  • Lead the in-home vendor shared monitoring process
  • Hire, supervise, and evaluate Case Management staff in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Plan, deliver, and/or arrange for delivery of pre-service and in-service training for department staff in the area of case management, resource development, grief counseling, and other related areas.
  • Ensure appropriate clients are being targeted and served; ensure client files are compliant with DOEA Program and Service Manual, and grant expectations.
  • Schedule and direct departmental staff meetings.
  • Assure that all staff are trained and using the specified client data systems.
  • Provides leadership, oversight, and operational support to ensure effective daily operations of the assigned county office
  • Coordinate services with other departments.
  • Represent the agency in public speaking engagements and community functions as requested.
  • Perform routine correspondence with funding sources, vendor and community agencies, and the public, as needed.
  • Attend meetings as necessary.
  • Stay informed of changes and updates in legislation, grant regulations, and policies, which may impact the Case Management Department and/or proper execution of contractual requirements.
  • Submit reports as required.
  • Participate in fundraising and outreach activities to promote the organization’s mission.
  • Report any incident of abuse or neglect as mandated by state guidelines.
  • Attend staff meetings, trainings, and seminars as required.
  • Must comply with all Senior Friendship Centers personnel policies.
  • Must protect the safety and health of staff, volunteers, participants, and others by observing and following the organization's safety and incident policies.
