About The Position

PartsSource is the leading technology and software platform for managing mission-critical healthcare equipment. Trusted by over 5,000 US hospitals and 15,000 clinical sites, PartsSource empowers providers and service organizations to maximize clinical availability for patient care and automates the procurement of parts, services and training through a unique digital experience. PartsSource team members are deeply committed to our mission of Ensuring Healthcare is Always On®, which is foundational to our success and growth. Our vibrant culture is built upon aligned values, shared ownership, mutual respect, and a passion for collaborating to solve complex customer problems. The Director, Supply Chain is a key operational and strategic leader responsible for managing and optimizing end-to-end purchasing and supply chain functions across PartsSource’s five affiliated companies. This is a high-autonomy, high-impact Director-level role for a supply chain leader who operates equally well as a strategic architect and a hands-on executor, and who thrives in a complex, multi-entity environment where no two affiliate companies are exactly alike.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of progressive supply chain, purchasing, or operations experience, including demonstrated success in multi-site or multi-entity environments.
  • 3–5+ years in a leadership or management role with direct reports; proven track record of building and developing purchasing or supply chain teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to reduce backorder rates and improve inventory health across a complex, distributed supply chain.
  • Strong vendor negotiation skills with experience leveraging consolidated spend across multiple business units to drive cost reductions and improved supply terms.
  • Expertise in SOP development, process documentation, and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent).
  • High proficiency with data and analytics — comfortable working with ERP systems, dashboards, BI tools (Power BI, Tableau), and Excel to drive decisions, not just report them.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as both a strategic architect and a hands-on executor; equally comfortable setting direction and managing day-to-day operational details.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Supporting multiple business entities, divisions, or affiliated companies simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with medical/surgical, industrial, or B2B distribution supply chains.
  • APICS CSCP, CPSM, or equivalent professional supply chain certification.
  • Change management experience leading teams through process transformation and cross-company standardization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a centralized Purchasing Team that supports all five affiliated PartsSource companies; establish clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations that foster accountability and professional growth.
  • Implement cross-training programs so team members can support multiple affiliate companies, building operational redundancy, flexibility, and shared institutional knowledge across the portfolio.
  • Standardize purchasing workflows, tools, and communication protocols across all entities to eliminate duplicated effort, inconsistency, and single points of failure.
  • Own and manage inventory levels across all five affiliated companies, setting and monitoring reorder points, safety stock targets, and order quantities aligned to customer service requirements.
  • Drive immediate and sustained reduction in back-order rates as a primary KPI; develop and execute action plans to bring backorders to target thresholds and maintain them there.
  • Analyze demand patterns, historical usage, and lead time variability to build accurate inventory forecasting models that reduce both stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to align inventory targets with physical space, handling capacity, and fulfillment requirements.
  • Monitor and report on inventory health metrics (turns, days on hand, fill rates, backorder %) on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Increase and maintain the number of parts that meet internal cost, quality, and availability minimums for “Performance Line” designation.
  • Manage end-to-end vendor relationships across all affiliated companies, consolidating supplier bases where appropriate to maximize leverage and simplify operations.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and service agreements leveraging combined spend across all five companies to drive sustained cost reduction and improved supply terms.
  • Track and manage supplier lead times; hold vendors accountable to performance standards through structured scorecards and regular business reviews with a goal of minimizing lead time and the cost of capital tied to held inventory.
  • Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers as needed; maintain a diversified and resilient supply base that accounts for geopolitical risk and single-source dependency.
  • Resolve supplier escalations quickly to minimize impact on product availability and customer service levels.
  • Leverage data and analytics tools to surface operational insights, identify inefficiencies, and prioritize improvement initiatives across all affiliates.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting tools — in collaboration with data and analytics teams — that track key supply chain KPIs across all affiliated companies in real time.
  • Prepare and present weekly and monthly reporting to senior leadership covering backorder status, inventory health, vendor performance, cost savings, and SOP adoption rates.
  • Design, document, and implement comprehensive SOPs for all core supply chain functions including purchasing, receiving, inventory management, and vendor management.
  • Establish a continuous improvement cadence — regularly reviewing SOPs against performance data, benchmarks, and team feedback to refine and elevate standards across affiliates.
  • Act as the connective tissue across all five affiliated companies — identifying opportunities to standardize processes, consolidate purchasing, and share resources and expertise.
  • Facilitate cross-company collaboration sessions to align on best practices, shared vendor programs, and coordinated inventory strategies.
  • Develop shared sourcing strategies that allow smaller affiliated entities to benefit from the scale and leverage of the broader PartsSource portfolio.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation package with salary, incentives, company ownership/equity, and comprehensive benefits (401k match, health, college debt reduction, and more!)
  • Career and professional development through training, coaching and new experiences.
  • Hybrid culture with new & beautiful workspaces that balance flexibility, collaboration, and productivity.
