Director of Strategy & Operations

Elmington•Nashville, TN

About The Position

The Director of Strategy & Operations works directly alongside the EVP of Operations as a strategic partner across Elmington’s asset management, accounting, finance, and operations functions. The role also supports cross-functional projects that extend into Elmington Construction and Elmington Living. It is a broad, high-visibility leadership position with no fixed lane: work may include financial forecasting, reviewing partnership or loan documents, preparing partner memos, and resolving urgent property issues. The role offers exposure to development, construction, property management, and investor and lender relationships across more than $4 billion in affordable housing assets in eight states. Depending on the employee’s interests and performance, it may develop into a long-term strategic leadership position or expanded responsibilities across asset management, finance, and operations. The Director will help optimize the income, expenses, debt, and bottom line of Elmington’s multiple locations and business lines. The position calls for an analytical, self-sufficient teammate who can manage ambiguity, shifting priorities, and high-stakes problems, and who takes ownership and follows work through to resolution. The role involves handling sensitive and confidential financial, legal, and personnel information and occasional travel to properties and partner meetings across Elmington’s markets, estimated at 15–20%.
