About The Position

The Director of Strategy, Data & Organizational Effectiveness serves as Next Door's executive leader for enterprise strategy, organizational intelligence, performance management, business intelligence, research, evaluation, data governance, and continuous organizational improvement. The position exists to ensure that organizational decisions are informed by evidence, predictive insight, and strategic analysis—not simply historical reporting. This leader transforms data into organizational knowledge that improves outcomes for children, families, employees, partners, and the community while strengthening stewardship of public resources and positioning the organization for long-term sustainability. This role partners with the President & CEO and Executive Leadership Team to connect information across every major function of the organization and translate complexity into strategic action.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
  • 7+ years progressively responsible leadership in strategy, analytics, organizational effectiveness, research, performance management, or business intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate enterprise strategic planning and annual organizational priorities.
  • Develop enterprise KPIs and balanced performance scorecards.
  • Lead quarterly executive performance reviews.
  • Conduct scenario planning, forecasting, benchmarking, and environmental scanning.
  • Support organizational growth initiatives and strategic investments.
  • Integrate operational, enrollment, workforce, fiscal, child outcome, family, fundraising, research, and community data.
  • Develop executive dashboards and concise decision briefs.
  • Provide strategic analyses for the CEO, Board, Policy Council, and executive leadership.
  • Lead Community Assessment, Self-Assessment, performance management, monitoring readiness, corrective action tracking, and continuous improvement.
  • Support Educare Learning Network evaluation and organizational learning.
  • Lead research partnerships and program evaluation.
  • Measure organizational outcomes and return on investment.
  • Translate evidence into policy and practice improvements.
  • Lead responsible implementation of AI, predictive analytics, automation, and business intelligence technologies.
  • Modernize reporting while ensuring ethical use, transparency, privacy, and human oversight.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging technologies that improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Establish enterprise governance for data quality, metadata, validation, report inventory, lifecycle management, and secure information sharing.
  • Develop organizational standards for data stewardship.
  • Develop early-warning indicators for compliance, enrollment, fiscal performance, staffing, procurement, attendance, eligibility, and operational risks.
  • Support internal controls through anomaly detection, fraud-risk analytics, data integrity monitoring, and stewardship of federal, state, and philanthropic funding.
  • Partner with Finance, HR, IT, ERSEA, Development, and program leaders to proactively identify organizational risks.
  • Develop organization-wide data literacy.
  • Coach leaders in evidence-based decision making.
  • Lead cross-functional change initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Recommend enterprise strategic priorities and KPIs.
  • Set standards for organizational reporting and data governance.
  • Prioritize analytics and evaluation initiatives.
  • Advise executive leadership on organizational opportunities and risks.
