About The Position

The Director of Spiritual Formation and Student Culture provides leadership and oversight for student culture and spiritual formation across all grade levels, establishing clear vision, direction, and supervision for campus-wide initiatives. These initiatives include chapel programming, small group discipleship experiences, and service opportunities. The Director also develops new opportunities that strengthen worship, discipleship, personal growth, and the spiritual lives of students. The Director cultivates strong, trusting relationships with students, parents, faculty, and staff. As a member of the senior leadership team, the Director provides leadership grounded in a biblical worldview and ordered toward wisdom, virtue, and truth.

Requirements

  • A mature and growing personal faith in Jesus Christ, consistent with CCA’s Statement of Faith
  • Strong biblical and theological foundation including a master’s degree in Ministry Leadership, Spiritual Formation, Pastoral Ministry, or related field
  • A minimum of five years of experience in professional ministry, school based spiritual leadership, or a closely related context, with demonstrated effectiveness working with students.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate and inspire a vision for spiritual formation in the context of a covenantal school environment
  • Proven ability to lead, disciple, and mentor students while cultivating student leadership and fostering a Christ centered campus culture.
  • A highly relational and collaborative leader with a demonstrated ability to build trust, credibility, and meaningful partnerships with students, parents, faculty, staff, and local church communities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary coordinator and visionary leader for all aspects of student culture and spiritual formation across the campus community, including chapel, discipleship, prayer, retreats, service opportunities, and community outreach.
  • Oversee the development, management, assessment, and expansion of programs and retreats that promote the spiritual formation of students, faculty, and staff, ensuring all spiritual life initiatives operate under a cohesive and intentional vision that advances desired student outcomes.
  • Direct and oversee the chapel program, including annual calendar development, speaker selection, worship coordination with the Director of Student Life, alternative chapel offerings, and clear communication of chapel programming to the campus community.
  • Collaborate with the Leadership Team to guide the coordination, development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum, ensuring consistent and meaningful Biblical integration across all areas of the school.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of professional development opportunities that support the spiritual growth, theological alignment, and spiritual disciplines of faculty and staff.
  • Serve as a liaison to local churches, pastors, and on campus student leadership groups, while collaborating with fine arts team and the worship class instructor to coordinate chapel, all campus worship experiences, and service opportunities.
  • Provide mentorship, spiritual guidance, and accountability to students, speak regularly in chapel, steward the spiritual culture of the campus, and partner with the counselor and school leadership to support students through crisis intervention and pastoral care when needed.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for student life activities that support spiritual formation and community, including student leadership development, retreats, service projects, and mission opportunities.
  • Partner with school leadership to support student behavior expectations through a Biblically grounded approach that reinforces character development, accountability, and alignment with the school’s mission and values.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive, mission-aligned community service and outreach strategy that engages students, faculty, and families in meaningful opportunities to live out their faith through local and global impact.
