About The Position

Join Big Bend Hospice Foundation as the Director of Special Events & Communications! Do you have a passion for creating unforgettable experiences and inspiring community engagement? Big Bend Hospice Foundation is searching for a dynamic, relationship‑driven leader to lead the planning and execution for our signature fundraising events and Foundation communications initiatives. As our Director of Special Events & Communications, you’ll play a pivotal role in elevating donor engagement, driving revenue growth, and strengthening the Foundation’s presence across the region. This is your opportunity to lead high‑impact events, craft compelling communications, and collaborate closely with executive leadership to advance meaningful philanthropic work. The Role: You will be the driving force behind the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of BBH Foundation fundraising events and communication efforts. You’ll partner directly with the Foundation President to align initiatives with organizational goals, ensuring every event and message strengthens donor relationships and supports mission‑critical fundraising priorities. Your Impact In this role, you will: Lead and grow signature fundraising events that directly impact families and patients receiving underfunded Hospice services such as Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Bereavement, The First Commerce Center for Compassionate Care, Charity Care, Valor Program, Margaret C. Dozier House and more! Oversee event logistics, vendor partnerships, and on‑site execution Shape communication strategies that elevate donor engagement and brand consistency Support sponsorship development and stewardship activities Build strong relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners Provide leadership and coaching to event operations staff

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree (Business, Marketing, Event Planning, Communications, or related field preferred)
  • 4+ years of experience in events, fundraising, communications, or nonprofit operations
  • Vibrant personality, creativity and a flair for bringing ideas to life through unforgettable experiences
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Exceptional communication and relationship‑building abilities
  • A proactive, future facing mindset with a passion for mission‑driven work
