About The Position

Teton is seeking a senior authority on federal and state skilled nursing facility (SNF) regulation to translate regulatory knowledge across all 50 states into its product. The role will help ensure Teton's platform supports operators in meeting Requirements of Participation, performing well on surveys, and protecting residents. The Director will work across product, clinical, legal, and customer teams, shaping product development, how insights are positioned, and how operators use Teton to remain survey-ready. The Director will interpret federal and state regulation for product development, advise on compliant deployment of in-room sensing and AI, support client compliance outcomes, and build internal regulatory expertise. The position is remote in the US, with estimated travel of 10% as needed for client meetings.

  • Expert, current knowledge of 42 CFR Part 483, SOM Appendix PP, F-tags, the long-term care survey process, and enforcement remedies.
  • Working knowledge of state SNF licensure and regulatory requirements across multiple states, including differences in state survey agency practices.
  • Track record of leading survey readiness, Plans of Correction, mock surveys, and compliance programs across a portfolio of facilities.
  • Familiarity with incident and abuse reporting, resident rights, HIPAA, and OIG compliance program guidance for nursing facilities.

  • Define compliance requirements with product, data science, and engineering teams; review features and validate that outputs support regulatory obligations.
  • Track CMS rule changes, survey guidance updates, minimum staffing developments, and state legislative and regulatory changes, and turn them into roadmap input.
  • Advise on deployment of in-room sensing and AI in each state, including resident consent, privacy, electronic monitoring laws, and HIPAA.
  • Partner with legal and security teams on policies, documentation, and contract language related to SNF regulation.
  • Ensure Teton's documentation and insights can withstand scrutiny from surveyors, state agencies, and auditors.
