About The Position

The Assistant Director of Nursing coordinates care on the nursing units in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards and ensures that Senior Lifestyle standards for resident care are met. The role supports skilled residents and direct-care nursing staff, oversees medical-record documentation and quality assurance activities, and provides nursing care and supervisory support as indicated.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Nursing or higher; an associate degree is the minimum.
• Must be a registered nurse (RN).
• 5–10+ years of experience.
• Direct resident-care experience.
• Previous experience in a similar position and experience as a clinical nurse.
• English fluency sufficient to perform job duties and speak, read, write, and communicate with others.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Professional, organized, experienced, easy-going, low-key, and confident in self-knowledge.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain medical records, including monitoring documentation in Point Click Care.
• Monitor current health records and follow up on incidents and issues involving skilled residents or their families; attend meetings as needed.
• Develop and maintain working relationships with professional providers of care to skilled residents.
• Assist direct-care nursing staff with resident admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Monitor and follow up on falls, infection control, skin issues, unusual occurrences, medication delivery errors, and other issues as indicated by the Director of Nursing.
• Maintain quality assurance parameters, including chart audits, log audits, and scheduling in-services as indicated.
• Oversee daily completion of and adherence to documentation requirements in Point Click Care.
• Complete audits as directed by the Director of Nursing.
• Provide direct-care nursing and supervisory responsibilities as indicated.
• Provide staff in-service training and education as indicated.
• Communicate with other health care providers to clarify and obtain orders and updates on resident condition.
