About The Position

The Assistant Director of Nursing coordinates care on the nursing units in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards and ensures that Senior Lifestyle standards for resident care are met. The role supports skilled residents and nursing staff, maintains clinical documentation and quality assurance processes, and provides direct care and supervision as indicated.

Requirements

• Associate degree in nursing or a related field; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Five to ten or more years of experience.
• Direct resident care experience.
• Previous experience in a similar position.
• Experience as a clinical nurse.
• Must be a registered nurse (RN).
• Fluent enough in English to perform job duties and speak, read, write, and communicate with others.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Professional, organized, experienced, easygoing, low-key, and confident in own knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintain medical records and monitor documentation in Point Click Care (PCC).
• Monitor current health records and follow up on incidents, issues involving skilled residents or families, and meetings as needed.
• Develop and maintain working relationships with professional providers of care to skilled residents.
• Assist direct care nursing staff with resident admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Monitor and follow up on falls, infection control, skin issues, unusual occurrences, medication delivery errors, and other issues as indicated by the Director of Nursing (DON).
• Maintain quality assurance parameters, including chart audits, log audits, and scheduling in-services as indicated.
• Oversee daily completion of and adherence to documentation requirements in PCC.
• Complete audits as directed by the DON.
• Provide direct care nursing and supervisory responsibilities as indicated.
• Provide staff in-service training and education as indicated.
• Communicate with other health care providers to clarify and obtain orders and updates on resident conditions.
