About The Position

The Director of Skilled Nursing Facility facilitates teamwork and unit pride by advocating for an environment that promotes high patient care standards and implements strategies to ensure patient and physician satisfaction. The Director of Skilled Nursing Facility is a registered professional nurse responsible for 24 hour leadership of specific nursing unit(s) within the Department of Nursing. He/She works in a cooperative and consultative relationship with the Nurse Management Team and other disciplines under the direction of Nursing Administration. The Director of Skilled Nursing Facility assumes authority, accountability and leadership/management responsibility for the specific unit(s) as assigned. In addition to Director of Skilled Nursing Facility duties, he/she may be assigned to work house supervisor shifts as needed. The Director of Skilled Nursing Facility provides leadership to achieve unit, departmental, and organizational objectives within a rapidly changing environment. He/She applies advanced knowledge of nursing and management to manage systems of patient care, personnel development, fiscal and unit operations, performance improvement, and program development. The Director of Skilled Nursing Facility promotes innovation and excellence in clinical, service, and team performance.

Requirements

  • Graduate from NLN School of Nursing required.
  • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Mississippi.
  • Must complete and maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer.
  • Must have de-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days); must have appropriate level of de-escalation training.
  • Three (3) years progressive professional nursing experience in an acute care hospital required.
  • Must be proficient with a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (i.e., MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Must possess the ability to work independently with little supervision and seek guidance as need to clarify assignments or request for more information.
  • Must possess basic business skills, an understanding of general financial operations and major AR goals in the healthcare environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Management experience preferred.
