About The Position

The Director of the Single Moms Community Program provides strategic leadership, program oversight, and direct services for the Single Moms Community Program. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based programming that strengthens parenting skills, promotes family stability, and supports positive outcomes for single mothers and their children. The Director serves as the primary facilitator for life skills and educational programming, including financial literacy, personal development, vocational advancement, parenting education, and other evidence-based curricula. The Director provides coaching, support, resource navigation, and community connections to participants while overseeing program operations, staff, volunteers, and community partnerships. This position ensures compliance with program fidelity, funding, and reporting requirements and utilizes data and outcome measurements to drive continuous improvement and demonstrate program impact. In addition to the above, the ideal candidate for this position will enjoy engaging community partners, sharing about the vision and mission of One More Child, and collaborating internally and externally to execute assigned initiatives.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree preferred in a field such as early childhood education, social work, psychology, or human services as well as experience working in child welfare, diverse populations and/or marginalized groups.
  • Current certification in Trust Based Relational Intervention, Motivational Interviewing and other evidence-based parenting models is preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is desirable.
  • Present oneself, both at and outside of work, in a manner keeping with One More Child’s Core Values of Humble, Hungry, Wise, and Called.
  • Commitment to supporting at-risk families.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of child welfare issues to include trauma-informed care best practices and their implementation.
  • Cultural and linguistic competency appropriate to service areas
  • Ability to complete the evidence-based model before providing instruction to participants.
  • Familiarity with issues surrounding family poverty.
  • Appreciation for people of other cultures, races, and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Maintain current certification in the evidence-based model by completing the required professional development hours for years of service.
  • Perform under strong demands in fast-paced, diverse, sometimes ambiguous environments.
  • Ability to build effective professional working relationships internally and externally.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written; attention to detail, and ability to stay organized under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to protect confidentiality of sensitive information and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Perform at a high level of autonomy, be self-motivated with general supervision, and work flexible hours and days as needed.
  • Computer and systems skills including experience with Microsoft Office, Client Management Databases, and other quality improvement tools.
  • Have had a personal conversion experience with Jesus Christ and been scripturally baptized.
  • Possess a sense of commitment to ministry through vocation.
  • Hold a sincere desire to seek God and His kingdom.
  • Demonstrate personal and devotional habits and practices such as Bible study, prayer, and daily meditation.
  • Be a member of a New Testament, evangelical church in the local community and attend regularly.
  • Engage in witness activities as a normal part of life.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate life skills and educational programming, including financial literacy, personal development, vocational advancement, parenting education, and other evidence-based curricula designed to support family stability and self-sufficiency.
  • Assess the single moms’ family needs and provide developmentally appropriate information, guidance, and support.
  • Assist single moms in improving the family support system by increasing protective factors and enhancing access to concrete support.
  • Assist in increasing the single moms’ ability to problem-solve and advocate for themselves and their children.
  • Provide a supportive learning environment to single moms while facilitating the evidence-based models-curriculum at the various church and community sites!
  • Facilitate recruitment of new single mom participants through effective community outreach efforts and maintain an active caseload of classes per cycle as pre-determined by the evidence-base model.
  • Actively recruit additional single moms to be included on a wait list to ensure annual goals of moms and children served are achieved.
  • Collaborate with the external engagement team to identify and develop partnerships and relationships with local churches, various community agencies and other constituents with access to the single mom population in need.
  • Engage single moms in a parent advisory committee and other leadership opportunities to enhance their personal development as well as program development.
  • Maintain and submit documentation within required timelines to meet program fidelity and funding requirements.
  • Provide fiscal management of the Single Moms Community program including budget preparation, decision making, data and metrics and other reporting within assigned communities/ geographic areas.
  • Supervise key staff, maintaining hiring and retention procedures of competent, qualified team members.
  • Recruit, vet, and train volunteers to engage with One More Child.
  • Travel as needed for community engagement, acquisition of tangibles for distribution to clients, and overnights for training and retreat opportunities.
  • All other duties as assigned.
