About The Position

Reporting to the Hotel General Manager and supported by the Regional Sales Department, the Director of Sales will focus on leading the sales operation of Oceans Edge Resort and Marina. Educating travel professionals and meeting planners both domestic and international, moving market share from our competitors, and leading the sales organization to meet the properties financial goals. Through effective relationship building and account management the Director of Sales will deliver the highest levels of guest service and organizational leadership. They will be a creative, energetic, and knowledgeable professional, and will be fundamental to the ongoing success of the hotel. The start date for this position will be on or after July 1, 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and contribute to the workflow of the sales organization to reach departmental and hotel performance goals.
  • Responsible for the solicitation and management of all group, catering and transient segments in order to meet and exceed all established booking goals.
  • Manages and develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, resolve problems, provide open communication, and recommend discipline when appropriate.
  • Ensure training programs are conducted regularly and Company standards of performance are met. Give guidance and counsel staff toward improvement.
  • Organize and/or lead scheduled Sales Department and related meetings.
  • Direct the preparation of reports pertaining to the operation of the Sales Department to include, but not limited to; the weekly, annual and monthly Forecast, sales tactical planning, Lead Management System, Booking PACE Reporting, STR report analysis and submitting weekly activity tracking with commentary, and completion of weekly, monthly and quarterly reports for ownership and management team.
  • Coordinate ongoing research of the travel industry to detect market trends and related information for development of new direct sales strategies.
  • Make reasonable and informed recommendations to improve potential from existing and emerging markets.
  • Establish themselves as a subject matter expert; serves the property by understanding the Market, business issues, and concerns to offer better business solutions to the operation.
  • Represent the property to the group market segments as needed to increase market penetration and exceed revenue targets.
  • Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.
  • Meet with and entertain clients some of which will require travel.
  • Supports the company’s service and relationship strategy, driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.
  • Provides excellent customer service consistent with the daily service of the company.
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to the staff.
  • Works collaboratively with the Marketing team to promote initiatives.
  • Initiate preparation of computerized annual Sales & Marketing Plan and execute plans as outlined, critically examining and adjusting as deemed necessary by current market conditions.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
