About The Position

The Director of Sales will spearhead daily outbound sales initiatives to elevate group sales, encompassing both room reservations and food and beverage services. This role is instrumental in driving growth and success by forging new relationships to help the hotel achieve its annual goals for rooms, dining outlets, and events. The key focus will be on maximizing revenue from room rentals, implementing effective yield strategies, analyzing market performance, and attaining optimal business mix targets. Furthermore, the Director of Sales will play a pivotal role in pricing, status management, direct sales, marketing, outbound sales efforts, and public relations. To thrive in this position, a dynamic sales-oriented leadership style, exceptional communication and decision-making skills, strong business acumen, and the ability to work independently are essential.

Requirements

  • Previous Hotel Sales experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of the travel industry, current market trends, and economic factors.
  • Extensive skills in the development and delivery of sales presentations.
  • Proven track record in prospecting for new business and savvy at closing the deal.
  • Must be able to make quick decisions and work in a hectic and diverse work environment.
  • Strong ability to prioritize, organize, and manage competing priorities.
  • Possess well-developed leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to build and maintain business relationships.
  • Excellent/Above average reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language required.

Responsibilities

  • Generate Group Sales for Both Room and Food and Beverage.
  • Prepare, implement, and compile data for the strategic sales plan to meet the hotel’s financial goals.
  • Creates effective sales programs that will increase awareness and positive perception of the hotel, its activities, culinary services, and personnel.
  • Ability to use hotel property management system and track all goals and progress into the property sales system.
  • Assist the General Manager in preparation of the marketing, advertising, sales plans, programs, and annual budget; manage within approved plans and budgets.
  • Develop rates, and group sales development strategies through a review of competitive data, demand analysis, and mix management.
  • Develop awareness and reputation of the hotel and the brand in the local community.
  • Direct and manage all group, transient, and banquet sales activities to maximize revenue for the hotel.
  • Prepare weekly sales reports, monthly reports, annual goals, sales and marketing budgets, forecasts, and other reports as directed/required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
