About The Position

The Director, Sales will own and lead Aspen Collection's wholesale channel strategy from the ground up, building a multi-year growth plan across resort/ski specialty, fashion lifestyle boutique, and department store flagship doors. This role requires a senior wholesale leader who is deeply networked in the fashion boutique world, comfortable setting strategy and reporting to executive leadership, and equally hands-on in building the rep group network and boutique relationships needed to execute it. The ideal candidate blends strategic channel planning with strong personal relationships across independent sales reps and specialty retail buyers and can build the team and infrastructure to scale the wholesale channel as it grows. This role reports to the COO, Aspen Collection.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales, or related field or equivalent professional experience in lieu of degree is required
  • 7+ years of experience in wholesale sales, account management, or rep group leadership
  • Deep, established relationships across fashion lifestyle boutiques and independent specialty retail.
  • Demonstrated success owning a wholesale channel strategy end-to-end, including multi-year planning and executive reporting, not just executing against someone else's plan.
  • Track record of building a wholesale channel or door base from an early stage, including team and partner network design.
  • Established network of boutique owners/buyers that can be activated to open new doors quickly.
  • Strong working knowledge of independent sales rep networks and rep groups that service the boutique channel.
  • Experience attending and sourcing partners at trade/market events (e.g., Dallas Market Center or similar regional markets).
  • Strong commercial instincts; comfortable owning a revenue number, a door-count target, and the strategic plan to hit both.
  • Expertise in retail math, margin management, and Open-to-Buy (OTB) planning.
  • Working knowledge of wholesale systems, vendor portals, and retailer compliance requirements.
  • Executive presence and ability to represent wholesale strategy and performance credibly in front of senior leadership.
  • Ability to balance growth ambition with brand protection, including pricing integrity, channel fit, and positioning.
  • Excellent relationship management and negotiation skills, particularly in the relationship-first dynamics of boutique buying.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and building process/infrastructure where it doesn't yet exist.
