About The Position

Schaeffer Homes is seeking a Director of Sales and Marketing to lead, manage, and continuously improve our Sales and Marketing functions. This is a senior leadership position responsible for sales leadership, marketing strategy, lead generation, customer experience, and sales operations. The Director will lead the sales organization, develop and execute marketing strategies, manage the sales pipeline, oversee the customer-facing sales process from initial inquiry through construction start, and manage the Selections and Design Center functions. The Director of Sales and Marketing serves as a member of the Schaeffer Homes Leadership Team and works closely with company ownership and internal teams including Purchasing & Estimating, Architecture, Permitting, Construction, Production Support, and Finance/Accounting. This position is primarily a leadership and management role rather than an individual salesperson position.

Requirements

Five or more years of experience in a Home Building Sales role.
One to two years of sales leadership experience with a Custom Home Builder or Build On Your Lot Home Builder.
Experience leading and developing sales professionals and managing team performance.
Demonstrated experience developing and executing marketing and lead-generation strategies.
Strong understanding of sales pipelines, lead management, customer follow-up, and conversion.
Experience using CRM systems and sales/marketing performance data.
Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate effectively across departments.
Experience managing outside vendors and professional business relationships.
Experience in residential homebuilding, new-home sales, construction, real estate, or a closely related industry is required.

Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Management: Lead, coach, develop, and manage the Sales team. Establish and maintain effective sales processes for lead qualification, follow-up, appointments, customer presentations, and conversion. Monitor sales activity, pipeline performance, conversion metrics, and customer follow-up. Ensure Sales team members accurately communicate Schaeffer Homes products, processes, pricing, expectations, and value proposition. Participate in recruiting, hiring, training, development, and performance-management decisions. Collaborate with leadership on sales goals, pricing considerations, market conditions, and growth opportunities.
Marketing & Lead Generation: Develop and execute marketing and lead-generation strategies supporting Schaeffer Homes communities, Build On Your Lot opportunities, available homes, land opportunities, new products, and geographic expansion. Manage digital and traditional marketing channels, including website content, advertising, social media, collateral, signage, photography, renderings, and promotional campaigns. Manage outside marketing vendors and evaluate campaign performance. Use marketing data to recommend improvements to strategy, spending, messaging, and execution.
Customer Experience & Sales Operations: Oversee the customer-facing sales process from initial inquiry through construction start. Maintain visibility into sold customers and identify issues that may impact sales completion or construction start. Oversee customer communication, expectations, documentation, deposits, approvals, and sales-related requirements. Coordinate with internal departments to ensure customer commitments and sales information are communicated accurately.
Selections & Design Center Management: Manage Selections and Design Center operations and personnel. Ensure customers are prepared for selection appointments and complete selections according to company schedules. Coordinate with Sales, Purchasing & Estimating, Architecture, Production Support, and other departments.
Business Development: Develop relationships with Realtors, brokers, lenders, land professionals, referral partners, and other business-development resources. Support broker presentations, events, outreach, and relationship-building activities.
CRM, Reporting & Leadership: Maintain accurate CRM usage, sales pipeline information, customer records, and reporting. Use sales and marketing data to evaluate performance and identify improvement opportunities. Promote accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
