Requirements

• Knowledge of public relations, human relations & stakeholder engagement, BWC policies, Office of Safety Services policies & procedures & regulatory compliance requirements, principles of management & supervisory techniques; employee training, development & performance management; principles of BWC claims operations, data analysis, statistics & research methodology, including evaluation of program effectiveness, technological solutions and software systems for data collection and analysis, injury and illness prevention strategies, including industry-specific best practices, principles of safety management; occupational health, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and safety engineering.
• Skill in Microsoft Office 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Tableau business intelligence tools
• Ability to comprehensively analyze & evaluate complex problems to develop practical data-driven decisions; make strategic and evidence-based decisions to support program goals and objectives.
• Prepare meaningful, concise, & accurate reports & presentations; proofread & review technical materials to identify & correct errors; apply research methodologies to gather, classify & analyze information effectively, investigate & resolve complaint/problems; handle sensitive face-to-face & telephone inquiries from employers, special interest groups, other BWC departments, & the public; foster collaboration and maintain a positive work environment as a leader and director.
• Develop innovative strategies for injury and illness prevention and program improvement.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Public Policy, Social Sciences, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
• A Master’s degree would be highly desirable but not strictly required if offset by strong experience.
• 3-5 Years of progressively responsible experience in\: o Grant Administration or Program Management o Stakeholder Engagement and Regulator Compliance o Performance Evaluation and Process Improvement
• Advanced proficiency in: o Microsoft Office 365 (especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) o Data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or advanced Excel (pivot tables, charts, graphs)
• Strong leadership and communication skills, including: o Strategic thinking o Analytical decision-making o Report writing and presentation o Cross-functional collaboration

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all BWC safety grants and the Safety Council Program, including the Workforce Safety Innovation Center®.
• Direct the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and strategic plans to strengthen Office of Safety Services (OSS) program delivery and enhance customer experience..
• Collect, analyze, and interpret program data and performance metrics to guide evidence-based decisions and long-range planning.
• Represent the Bureau at conferences, statewide committees, and public forums; deliver professional presentations; and cultivate partnerships with employers, trade associations, and safety organizations.
• Supervise, coach, and mentor a multidisciplinary team of program managers, administrators, and support staff, ensuring alignment with OSS goals and fostering professional growth.
• Design and execute targeted outreach strategies and safety campaigns for high-risk industries and worker groups to expand program reach and impact.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate, adopt, and implement innovative technological solutions that enhance OSS efficiency and service delivery.
