About The Position

The Director of Residential provides leadership and vision for all assigned programs and services. This role is responsible for operational oversight, administrative processes, reporting procedures, and people systems to ensure customer satisfaction, efficiency, financial stability, and strategic growth. The Director of Residential (Evansville) plans, implements, administers, and evaluates program performance while coordinating resources to maximize outcomes for individuals served.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Services, or closely related field required
  • Minimum of one-year experience in the human services field
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience
  • Must demonstrate sound understanding of Community Integration, Social Role Valorizations, and the ability to work effectively within human service systems
  • Strong analytical, written, verbal presentation and interpersonal skills required
  • Ability to travel between satellite offices and community locations
  • Ability to work non-standard/flexible schedule
  • Must have a valid Indiana driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to successfully lift, transfer, and reposition individuals, including use of mechanical lifting devices such as Hoyer lifts.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach throughout the work shift.
  • Ability to assist with mobility needs, including pushing wheelchairs and supporting ambulation and transfers.
  • Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations, including performing CPR.
  • Sufficient strength, coordination, and dexterity to assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting.
  • Ability to safely operate adaptive equipment and assistive devices.
  • Visual and auditory ability to monitor safety and recognize changes in condition.
  • Ability to work in community environments with varying conditions.
  • This position requires the ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Master’s degree in related discipline is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance, feedback and coaching for all subordinates
  • Assist with the hiring and training of assigned staff
  • Provide informal feedback and formal performance evaluations for staff as needed and in accordance with agency policies
  • Coordinate and lead meetings and other staff activities
  • Assist staff with providing services as needed
  • Work in conjunction with leadership team to ensure agency success
  • Guide the direction of the assigned service line(s) to maximize participant outcomes, customer satisfaction, profitability, productivity, efficiency, and achievement of strategic goals
  • Serve as the agency “expert” for assigned service line(s), staying abreast of applicable funding source/accreditation standards, industry trends, etc.; ensure information is communicated to staff throughout the agency as appropriate
  • Implement and enforce program procedures, as appropriate, to improve the overall operation and effectiveness of services
  • Implement internal controls to ensure quality of program functions and compliance with appropriate state and national entities
  • Ensure outcomes for people with disabilities based upon their desires, interests, and plans for the future
  • Coordinate all reporting and documentation relating to service line
  • Ensure program consistency with policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Develop all required reports at the request of the CEO and COO
  • Monitor all funding documentation
  • Participate in internal and external committees
  • Assess stakeholder and customer satisfaction with services and programs
  • Recommend and implement new programs and services as needed
  • Assist with grant or report writing as requested
  • Responsible for development of and performance to service line budget and financial goals
  • Monitor service line performance with budget projections and growth expectations
  • Oversee systems to monitor billing documentation and assure appropriate plan utilization and payment for services provided
  • Market services in a manner that enables the service line to meet all budget and program expectations
  • Promote and uphold the agency mission statement
  • Promote sense of team through mutual respect and assisting co-workers as needed
  • Interact regularly with the leadership team to ensure the service line’s operational priorities are aligned with the total organization direction
