About The Position

Independence Rehab is seeking a compassionate Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) who finds purpose in helping older adults regain mobility, confidence, and dignity - while leading a therapy team that delivers meaningful outcomes every day. Requirements

Current Nebraska PTA license in good standing
Minimum one year SNF clinical experience
Solid understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, private pay, and PDPM reimbursement
Driven, teachable, detail-oriented, and organized
Competent and confident leading, motivating, and developing others
Sincere love for the geriatric population - they are who matter most

Nice To Haves

Prior DOR experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

Overseeing the entire therapy department including full-time, part-time, and PRN staff
Attending multi-disciplinary facility management meetings
Managing relationships with facility leadership and administration
Interviewing and hiring therapy staff in partnership with Recruiting
Creating and managing therapy team schedules
Monitoring department revenue and expenses to support sustainable profitability
Serving as a key contact for patients, families, and caregivers
Carrying a regular caseload (minimum ~50% productivity; varies by program size)
Ensuring strict compliance with regulatory requirements and documentation standards
Training and mentoring staff on policies, procedures, and clinical expectations
Supporting a culture focused on functional outcomes and team collaboration
