About The Position

The Office of the Missouri Attorney General is seeking an experienced, mission-driven Human Resources leader to oversee and enhance the agency’s professional recruitment, talent development, and teammate recognition efforts. This position plays a central role in attracting legal and professional talent, strengthening the salary and rewards framework, coordinating performance evaluation processes, and ensuring consistent implementation of HR policies for professional teammates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent education and professional experience may be considered.
• Demonstrated experience in recruitment, compensation, performance evaluations, and HR policy administration.
• Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with teammates at all levels.
• Commitment to fostering professionalism, fairness, and continuous development across the agency.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle recruitment for attorneys, paralegals, and professional staff, including job postings, candidate outreach, screening, interviews, selection, and onboarding.
• Advise agency leadership on hiring strategies, workforce planning, and talent-market trends.
• Administer and maintain the agency’s salary structure and compensation practices to promote fairness, consistency, and competitiveness.
• Coordinate the attorney and paralegal performance evaluation program, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with professional development goals.
• Develop and implement talent-development initiatives, including training, mentoring, and career-growth resources.
• Oversee rewards and recognition efforts to support a culture that celebrates excellence, collaboration, and public-service commitment.
• Ensure consistent and compliant application of HR policies and procedures across professional roles within the office.
