Our client is an early-stage robotics company based in Palo Alto, building advanced hardware for mission-critical environments. The company is currently operating in stealth mode, with more details shared during the introductory call. This is the first Director of Recruiting hire, offering a greenfield opportunity. There is no existing recruiting function, no established processes, and no inherited pipeline. The role involves building the recruiting function from the ground up. The Director of Recruiting will report directly to the CEO and will own recruiting end-to-end, including sourcing, outbound, referrals, interviews, and closing, for a company scaling from a handful of people to hundreds. Key responsibilities include building the outbound and referral engine from scratch, hiring exceptional engineers who aren't actively looking, creating a recruiting experience that attracts top talent, and building and eventually leading the internal recruiting function.
