About The Position

This role will be responsible for developing and implementing quality and compliance programs to ensure that Scentbird and its associated brands meet all regulatory requirements and maintain the highest standards of product quality. The Director will oversee all aspects of quality control, risk management, and regulatory affairs, working closely with product development, manufacturing, and legal teams. The goal is to safeguard the company's reputation and ensure customer satisfaction by delivering safe, effective, and compliant products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biology, Engineering, or related science).
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, and regulatory affairs, preferably within the cosmetics, fragrance, or consumer goods industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations and standards (e.g., FDA regulations for cosmetics, IFRA guidelines).
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Strong understanding of product development, manufacturing processes, and supply chain management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for quality management and data analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or advanced degree in a related scientific field.
  • Experience with international regulations and compliance.
  • Certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive quality and compliance programs across all Scentbird brands.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant industry regulations, standards, and guidelines (e.g., FDA, FTC, IFRA).
  • Oversee product testing, quality assurance, and quality control processes from raw material sourcing to finished product.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for potential quality and compliance issues.
  • Manage regulatory submissions and communications with relevant authorities.
  • Collaborate with R&D, product development, and manufacturing teams to ensure product safety and efficacy.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to quality and compliance.
  • Train and mentor staff on quality and compliance best practices.
  • Stay updated on emerging regulations and industry trends, and adapt programs accordingly.
  • Investigate customer complaints related to product quality and compliance, and implement corrective actions.
