About The Position

The Director of Programs is a leadership position within the agency, responsible for the oversight of an agency-wide area/department. This role requires knowledge of the department system and skills in personnel, finance, and program development management. The ability to build positive relationships with internal and external customers at all levels is crucial. The Director of Programs collaborates with other Program Managers on program design, service delivery, quality assurance, and agency goals, contributing to Glove House's high-performance culture and its position as a premier provider of child, family, and behavioral health solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and driving record in accordance with agency standards.
  • 10+ years’ experience working in a specific department.
  • Community resources knowledge
  • Trauma Informed Care Practices knowledge
  • State and Federal regulations knowledge
  • Departmental area knowledge (ie, IT, Property Management, Philanthropy, etc.)
  • Ability to perform under strong demands in fast-paced, diverse environment
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
  • Ability to perform at a high level of autonomy, with minimal supervision
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to write exceptional reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to utilize computer and standard Microsoft Office, learn new computer programming (ie Myevolve, Paycom, et al.)
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees, County representatives, State regulatory personnel.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks, while maintaining high attention to detail, accuracy and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Provides overall oversight to assigned departmental support area and direct supervision to staff in accordance with all Glove House, state, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures all processes within the Department operate in compliance with applicable NYS codes, rules, regulations, and Glove House policies and procedures.
  • Provides supervision and coaching to staff within the departments and co-leadership with teams within the agency.
  • Conducts fiscal management within the assigned Department to ensure adequate resources and fiscal viability.
  • Participates in the development of all Agency/Department policy and procedure to ensure conformance with regulations and standards.
  • Directly responsible for quality assurance activities within the Department, including program evaluation (effectiveness/outcomes) and associated monitoring/measuring activities.
  • Responsible for hiring, coaching, training, supervision, and evaluation of department staff.
  • Provides oversight and ensures adequate staff coverage is scheduled for department needs.
  • Assures all documentation is completed in a timely fashion.
  • Actively participates as a member of the leadership team.
  • Consistently attends staff meetings and provides leadership, agenda, and coaching during team/staff meetings.
  • Assists Program Directors, Program Managers, and all team members navigate and benefit from departmental supports.
  • Available for on-call responsibilities as assigned.
  • Available to provide managerial oversight across the agency, as needed.
  • Assures that Program Manager and Supervisory staff are up to date with compliance and training requirements (physical, driver license, staff training etc.).
  • Participates in all Glove House strategic planning goals, including risk management and Quality Assurance plans.
  • Responsible for assisting in the research and development of best practices and new initiatives to meet the changing needs of children and families in the community.
  • Maintains timely compliance with all established Glove House standards and provides support documents as necessary (physical/TB, driver license, auto insurance).
  • Acts as a leader to the Department in fostering the principles of a Learning Organization through continuous education and the provision of in-service training throughout the agency.
  • Assists Human Resources with all personnel actions within the Department, including hiring, firing, supervision, evaluation, and training, to assure adequate numbers of qualified personnel.
  • Required to safely travel on agency business, as required by job demands. Maintain accurate mileage documentation and submit in required agency timeframes.
  • Consistently attends mandated agency and department meetings and participates on standing agency committees and community committees as assigned.
  • Represents Glove House at state and local forums, developing collaborative relations with other stakeholders in the community and promoting the interests of the agency.
