Director of Production
About The Position
The Director of Production leads and manages a diverse team producing events at the FTL War Memorial. The role oversees production management, including budgeting, payroll, stage management, and labor crew management and changeovers for concerts and private events. The Director maintains working knowledge of venue operations, sound, lighting, video, and rigging; advances and coordinates technical requirements and logistics; and provides creative, solution-oriented problem-solving in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The role also supports venue opening projects and event operations, including front-of-house, staffing, venue preparation, and project completion. The position is based on-site at FTL War Memorial in Fort Lauderdale and requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours as needed.
Requirements
- Four-year bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Working knowledge of rigging, sound, lighting, and video.
- Ability to use CAD.
- Five years of experience in venues, concert production, and/or event management.
- Hard-working, able to multitask, and able to work long hours, including weekends.
- Passion for the live entertainment industry.
- Able to work flexible hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities
- Maintain knowledge of production, sound, lighting, video, rigging, and overall venue operations.
- Apply creative problem-solving across concerts and private events.
- Understand stage management needs and requirements for shows.
- Advance and coordinate technical requirements and logistics for concerts and private events.
- Oversee the production budget, including over-hire wage payroll and purchasing and rental of event-related equipment and supplies.
- Work with operations staff to oversee preventive maintenance programs and production and stage equipment needs.
- Assist the VP of Development with opening needs for the FTL War Memorial.
- Assist the VP of Event Services with event operations and front-of-house to ensure optimal performance at FTL War Memorial.
- Develop event production budgets and estimates for business development and booking.
- Prepare settlement documents as needed for the Sr. Director of Finance.
- Work with all departments to maximize revenue and minimize expenses at FTL War Memorial.
- Assist Amerant Bank Arena staff with production-related tasks, items, and projects as needed and requested.
- Draw CAD diagrams and rigging overlays as needed.
- Supervise stagehands and back-of-house crews needed to operate events, and assist with front-of-house oversight as needed.
- Complete additional projects, tasks, and events as assigned.
