About The Position

Consilio is undergoing a significant transformation, shifting from a services-led business model to one driven by software and products. The Director of Product Management is a pivotal senior leadership role in this transition, responsible for the strategic direction, roadmap development, and commercial success of a key product area. This role also involves nurturing and advancing the product management expertise within the team. It is a hands-on leadership position where the individual will be accountable for end-to-end outcomes, including defining the direction for the ECI Product, making critical trade-offs, and championing the results with customers, engineering teams, and executive leadership. The ideal candidate is a proactive doer who will actively engage in research, requirement definition, and driving execution through ongoing collaboration.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in product management.
  • Track record of owning a B2B or enterprise SaaS product line with accountability for real success, beyond just feature delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strategy based on evidence, including market data, customer research, and unit economics, not solely intuition.
  • Strong written communication skills, capable of making complex trade-offs clear to an executive audience in a concise format.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous environments and contributing to building the operating model rather than inheriting a pre-established one.
  • Experience in close partnership with engineering on complex platform or data-heavy products.

Nice To Haves

  • Legal technology, eDiscovery, compliance, information governance, or regulated-industry software experience.
  • Experience taking AI or ML capabilities from demonstration to a dependable, sellable product, including the associated evaluation, trust, and change management efforts.
  • Experience in a company transitioning from services to product, or in a Private Equity-backed growth environment.
  • Familiarity with enterprise data platforms, security and privacy requirements, and the realities of large-scale client data.

Responsibilities

  • Product strategy and roadmap for your area, including a clear 12-24 month vision supported by market evidence, customer research, and business economics.
  • Product execution in close partnership with engineering, design, and delivery teams, setting the standard for how work is performed and what is shipped.
  • Sales readiness, including sales and market enablement in collaboration with customer success and sales organizations.
  • Cross-functional partnership with sales, marketing, operations, and delivery, including the pre-sales and enablement activities necessary for selling software instead of staffed services.
  • Build and defend a product strategy grounded in the legal technology and eDiscovery market, considering buyer economics, competitive positioning, and the impact of AI on workflows.
  • Conduct continuous discovery with corporate legal departments, law firms, and internal review and operations teams, translating insights into problems worth solving.
  • Size and sequence opportunities, with the ability to clearly decline requests and articulate the reasoning.
  • Own the roadmap and release plan for the product area, partnering with engineering leadership on scope, sequencing, and technical trade-offs.
  • Establish outcome-based success measures before initiating work and report on them transparently.
  • Implement a structured intake process for customer requests, sales escalations, and internal ideas, ensuring transparent prioritization.
  • Partner with product marketing on positioning and launch readiness.
  • Equip sales and client services teams with the necessary tools for product sales and support, including value narratives, demos, competitive framing, and qualification guidance.
  • Support strategic deals and executive customer conversations without allowing the roadmap to become a collection of one-off commitments.
  • Hire, coach, and develop product managers, elevating the team's skills in writing, discovery, analysis, and stakeholder management.
  • Operate the decision rights for the product area, clearly defining responsibilities for decisions, recommendations, and escalations.
  • Represent the product area to the executive team and, when appropriate, to customers and the market.
