About The Position

Spellbook is seeking a Director of Product to lead its entire product function. This is a high-impact role where the individual will define the product vision, manage and grow a team of Product Managers, oversee roadmap development and execution, and act as a liaison between engineering, design, go-to-market teams, and customers. The Director of Product will report directly to the CEO and play a significant role in company strategy. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguous environments, possesses strong product intuition, and can successfully translate ambitious ideas into tangible products.

Requirements

  • Experience leading product at a high-growth B2B SaaS company (Series A–C), preferably in vertical AI, legaltech, or professional services.
  • Proven experience managing Product Managers, including hiring, providing growth-oriented feedback, and maintaining high standards without micromanaging.
  • Ability to think systemically, managing both high-level portfolio strategy and detailed user flows and edge cases.
  • Demonstrated success in shipping impactful products, with the ability to articulate the end-to-end product lifecycle and lessons learned.
  • Deep curiosity about AI, understanding of model capabilities, agent functionalities, and the ability to distinguish between hype and genuine leverage.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of writing clear PRDs, presenting roadmaps to the board, and conducting difficult conversations with engineers.
  • Ability to operate with urgency and maintain calm under pressure, differentiating critical issues from noise.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in law, legal operations, or enterprise compliance workflows.
  • Experience building products integrated within third-party platforms (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Salesforce).
  • Familiarity with LLM product patterns such as prompt design, retrieval-augmented generation, agentic workflows, and evaluation frameworks.
  • Experience at a company that underwent a Series B funding round and rapid scaling, or that completed strategic acquisitions.

Responsibilities

  • Define and champion a unified product vision across Spellbook's entire portfolio.
  • Build, manage, and mentor a team of Product Managers, establishing a strong product culture and processes.
  • Own the product roadmap end-to-end, including prioritization, sequencing, and trade-offs, balancing immediate customer needs with long-term platform development.
  • Partner with engineering and design to drive product execution, ensuring clear specifications, efficient feedback loops, and successful product launches.
  • Lead go-to-market coordination for product launches, collaborating with marketing, sales, and customer success to maximize adoption.
  • Act as the voice of the customer by synthesizing insights from user research, support, sales, and data to inform product decisions.
  • Contribute to product strategy and overall company direction by partnering with the CEO and leadership team, including assisting with investor narratives and fundraising materials.
  • Establish key metrics and feedback mechanisms to measure product health, feature adoption, and user outcomes.
  • Support with other responsibilities and projects as required.

  • $1,000 towards mental health support
  • Holiday closure
  • Generous time off policies
  • Monthly paid meals
  • Annual wellness allowance
  • Parental leave top-ups
