About The Position

LayerZero is establishing its product discipline at scale for the first time. The company has an aggressive roadmap, strong engineering, and is at a clear inflection point. This role requires an individual who can define what great product looks like at LayerZero, build and protect the team responsible for executing it, and operate credibly at the executive level.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in product management.
  • 2+ years of experience managing PMs or leading a product function.
  • Crypto-native or deep technical product experience in adjacent infrastructure (developer platforms, financial infrastructure, or security-critical systems).
  • Experience operating at the executive level and engaging in strategic conversations with engineering and BD leadership.
  • Proven ability to hire and develop strong individual contributors, identifying and attracting top product talent.
  • A builder mentality with experience shipping products and maintaining technical credibility with engineers.
  • Ability to navigate competing opinions and organizational complexity while maintaining team focus on outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills with a default to overcommunication in ambiguous situations.
  • Thrives in environments with strong opinions, low process, and high autonomy.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead LayerZero's product function, defining the operating model, hiring bar, and team culture from the ground up.
  • Directly manage individual contributor Product Managers (PMs) across product lines, setting standards, unblocking execution, and developing the team.
  • Serve as the product representative at the executive level, participating in leadership discussions regarding roadmap, resourcing, and strategic direction.
  • Own the cross-product roadmap, ensuring all product lines progress coherently with clear priorities.
  • Drive alignment between engineering, business development (BD), and the product team, translating business and technical context into executable product strategy.
  • Set and defend the hiring bar for all PMs at LayerZero, managing the hiring process from intake to close.
  • Protect the team from context-switching, misaligned priorities, and organizational drag to create an environment where ICs can perform at their best.
