About The Position

The Director of Product will own product strategy, roadmap, and definition for airSlate’s AI Labs, a separate AI-native business developing products including BizDraft, Ordinum, and BizPulse. The role is tasked with taking AI Labs from proving its model to building a real business, targeting $20–50 million in new AI-native revenue over two to three years. This includes scaling BizDraft, moving Ordinum and BizPulse toward launch decisions, and identifying two to five additional high-potential projects.

The Director will hire and lead a small team of AI-native, 0-to-1 Product Owners, while working closely with AI Labs engineering leadership, who own the build team. The role also partners with the go-to-market team on market analysis, prioritization, positioning, planning, and launches. The Director will develop an understanding of airSlate’s existing products and customers to identify opportunities for AI Labs, including deciding whether a capability should be a standalone product or a feature within an existing product. The role also determines when proven internal AI systems should be handed off to functional owners and represents AI Labs’ progress to executives and the board.

Requirements

• Experience building 0-to-1 products within a larger company.
• A builder-operator who has shipped AI-native products end to end, or transformative standalone features or modules on existing products, with proven adoption success.
• Deep fluency in AI-assisted build workflows, such as Claude Code and OpenAI Codex, and understanding of their effects on team structure, ratios, and product definition.
• Ability to drive product outcomes through precision and influence without an engineering team reporting directly to the role.
• Commercial mindset and comfort partnering closely with marketing and product marketing on positioning and go-to-market.
• Low-ego, collaborative approach and ability to earn credibility with engineering leadership and peers.

Responsibilities

• Own product strategy and roadmap for AI Labs, targeting $20–50 million in new AI-native revenue over two to three years.
• Scale BizDraft after launch and drive Ordinum and BizPulse through go/no-go launch decisions.
• Identify, size, and prioritize two to five additional high-potential projects based on established customer needs and potential competitive advantage.
• Hire and lead a small team of AI-native, 0-to-1 Product Owners, each responsible for building a prioritized product and developing it based on customer and market feedback.
• Build a working understanding of pdfFiller, SignNow, DocHub, and AltaFlow and their customers to surface needs and use cases for AI Labs.
• Define product requirements and priorities with the precision required for AI-driven execution.
• Partner with AI Labs’ engineering lead on sequencing and trade-offs without directly managing the engineering team.
• Decide which proven internal AI systems are ready to hand off to functional owners and which should remain in AI Labs.
• Partner with the AI Labs go-to-market team on positioning, go-to-market planning, and launch execution.
• Represent AI Labs product progress to the executive team and board.
