About The Position

Oscar is hiring a Director of Product, Provider Data Management, to join its Product team. The Network pillar builds, maintains, and operates a high-quality provider network that members can access with confidence. Accurate, timely, and reliable provider data supports provider onboarding, credentialing, contracting, directory representation, claims processing, and member service. This role owns product strategy, roadmap, and delivery across the end-to-end provider-data lifecycle, including provider ingestion, reconciliation and data pipelines, credentialing workflows, contract-to-claim-ready processes, provider-data maintenance and quality, and distribution to downstream systems and experiences. The Director will turn fragmented, business-critical workflows into a reliable platform that improves network readiness, claims outcomes, and member and provider experience. The role manages and develops a team of Product Managers and partners with Engineering, Design, Data Science, Network Management, Network Operations, Provider Servicing, Credentialing, Contracting, Claims, and other downstream stakeholders. It translates complex operational needs into scalable products and data-platform capabilities that make provider data trustworthy, explainable, and easier to manage at scale. The position reports to a Vice President, Product Management. The position is based in Oscar’s New York City office and follows a hybrid schedule of three in-office days per week. Thursdays are required in office; the other two office days are flexible. Required travel is up to 5%. The base pay range is $180,504.00–$236,911.50 per year, with eligibility for employee benefits, unlimited vacation, company equity grants, and annual performance bonuses.

  • Demonstrated ability to define meaningful product and operational metrics, use data to make decisions, and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Experience partnering effectively with engineering, data, design, operations, and senior business leaders in a highly cross-functional environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and tradeoffs to varied audiences.
  • Ability to set direction amid ambiguity, make principled prioritization decisions, and deliver results across interdependent teams.
  • Experience with provider-facing healthcare products or payer-provider operations.
  • Familiarity with provider directory management, credentialing, claims processing and disputes, provider onboarding, and/or provider servicing.

  • Partner with Engineering and Data Science on data models, ingestion and ETL pipelines, entity and relationship logic, data-quality controls, lineage, reconciliation logic, and platform reliability.
  • Modernize and simplify fragmented workflows, reducing manual intervention, downstream configuration defects, and the time needed to identify and resolve provider-data issues.
  • Improve explainability, visibility, and operator control over how provider data is reconciled, maintained, and surfaced.
  • Ensure business operators have appropriate self-service capabilities to safely manage approved configuration and workflow changes without unnecessary engineering intervention.
  • Build alignment among senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders, and communicate strategy, tradeoffs, risks, progress, and results.
