About The Position

Perry Weather is seeking a Director of Product Marketing to lead the product marketing function and own how the company's value is understood across its markets. This role involves defining positioning, bringing products to market, and helping Perry Weather win in new verticals and move upmarket. The ideal candidate will be comfortable setting strategy, talking to customers, and writing messaging for new launches. This position requires connecting what the company builds to why buyers care, working across Product, Sales, Growth, Content, and Customer Success. Key responsibilities include developing positioning that connects the full platform to buyer needs, leading go-to-market strategy for new products and market expansion, translating insights into messaging and sales tools, and building the processes to scale product marketing. The role demands a deep understanding of markets, buyer personas, and competitive landscapes, as well as the ability to influence product roadmaps and sales strategies. Success will be measured by clear, differentiated positioning, successful product launches, stronger sales execution, and the development of a scalable product marketing function.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of product marketing or closely related experience in B2B SaaS, technology, or a hardware/software business.
  • Experience leading a product marketing function or team, setting strategy, and staying close to execution.
  • Proven success developing differentiated positioning and leading significant launches with measurable business impact.
  • Experience marketing to multiple buyer personas or verticals with different needs, buying processes, and sales motions.
  • Excellent writer and storyteller who can translate technical capabilities into clear customer value.
  • Strong customer research, competitive analysis, and sales enablement experience.
  • Ability to turn performance data and field feedback into decisions about positioning, launches, and investment.
  • Practical experience using AI tools to improve research, writing, analysis, and workflows.
  • Based in Dallas or willing to relocate for an in-office role.

  • Experience with enterprise sales, integrated hardware/software products, or safety-related industries is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop positioning that connects our full platform to the needs of buyers across our core and emerging verticals.
  • Lead go-to-market strategy for new products, capabilities, and market expansion.
  • Turn customer and market insights into messaging, sales tools, and launch programs that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Build the priorities, processes, and resources needed to scale product marketing with the business.
  • Own the product story across software, hardware, alerts, and data, translating individual capabilities into a clear, compelling platform value proposition.
  • Evolve positioning as we expand into new markets and larger accounts, connecting weather safety to broader operational value.
  • Develop messaging for distinct buyers and use cases.
  • Own the messaging hierarchy across website, product pages, and launch materials, partnering with Growth, Content, and Creative.
  • Set the go-to-market strategy for major product and feature launches, from audience definition and positioning through execution and post-launch analysis.
  • Align Product, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success around launch priorities, responsibilities, and measures of success.
  • Match the scale of each launch to its customer and business impact, focusing resources where they can make the greatest difference.
  • Partner with Growth and Customer Success on programs that help existing customers understand, adopt, and expand their use of the platform.
  • Deeply understand our markets, including buyer roles, purchasing triggers, decision processes, governing body requirements, and competitive alternatives.
  • Build a regular practice of customer interviews, win/loss analysis, and competitive research.
  • Use insights to guide segmentation, positioning, market entry recommendations, and sales strategy.
  • Bring a clear market perspective to Product leadership, helping inform roadmap priorities and how new capabilities are packaged and introduced.
  • Partner with Sales leadership to improve how our story lands in the field, especially in larger deals with multiple stakeholders.
  • Develop tools that help sellers win, including pitch narratives, competitive guidance, objection handling, and value frameworks.
  • Train customer-facing teams on new positioning and launches, then use their feedback to improve the message and materials.
  • Set priorities for the product marketing function, lead cross-functional contributors and external partners, and identify hiring and resource needs as the company grows.
