Director of Product Marketing

Consensus
$180,000 - $200,000Remote

About The Position

Consensus is entering its most important chapter: moving beyond demo automation and product experience to redefine our category. We're looking for a Director of Product Marketing to help build and drive that story in the market, in the product, and in the numbers. This is a strategic leadership role, not a launch-execution role. You'll own positioning, pricing, packaging, and the market and customer intelligence that the rest of GTM depends on. You'll be the person who can say, with evidence, what we sell, who we sell it to, why they buy, and what it's worth — and then get Product, Sales, and CS aligned behind that answer. You'll be a peer to executives, a strategic partner to Product on the roadmap itself, and the connective tissue between Consensus, our customers, and the market. You'll be measured on results: product adoption, market awareness, and pipeline.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in product marketing, with a proven track record as a PMM leader — you've built and run the function, set the bar, and delivered results, not just executed within it.
  • Domain fit strongly preferred: experience marketing in or adjacent to our space (demo automation, sales/buyer enablement, revenue tech, or GTM/PLG SaaS) and to our buyers — pre-sales, revenue, and marketing leaders. You already understand this ICP and persona.
  • Strategic gravity — you operate on positioning, pricing, and market strategy as a matter of course and influence executives, Product, and Sales as a peer.
  • AI-forward — you use AI fluently to build: research, messaging, competitive intelligence, enablement, and analysis — and you raise the whole team's leverage doing it.
  • Evidence over assertion — you set targets, measure performance, and tell the truth about what's working, backed by data and a clear "here's how we'll know."
  • A skilled writer and presenter who makes complex ideas simple and compelling across formats — written, video, and in-person.
  • A track record of bold, creative messaging that conveys brand and product personality.
  • Comfortable in ambiguity and speed — you can set direction, sequence the work, and hold a plan against louder voices in a fast-moving, category-defining environment.
  • A strong partner and collaborator who's trusted cross-functionally — and who likes to have fun (a good sense of humor is a must).

Responsibilities

  • Own the category narrative and positioning as we redefine our space, along with the messaging architecture beneath it — differentiation, value props, and proof — kept in lockstep with what Product actually ships. Resolve positioning centrally so the company moves fast and stops flip-flopping.
  • Own pricing and packaging strategy by use case across the portfolio — how we bundle, tier, and price to land and expand — and drive the cross-functional decisions and analysis behind it.
  • Own market and customer intelligence. Be the deepest expert in the room on our market, ICP, personas, and competitors, using product analytics, customer interviews, and research to sharpen segmentation and drive our vision and roadmap.
  • Own the release-to-launch motion end to end — naming, positioning, GTM strategy, and enablement — with high-profile launches tied to measurable adoption and pipeline, not just coordination.
  • Be a strategic partner to Product across the development lifecycle, bringing the customer and market insight that shapes the roadmap and the launch plan.
  • Own competitive strategy. Run closed/won analysis, stay ahead of the competitive set, and arm sellers with the differentiation that changes deals and keeps the narrative fresh.
  • Enable and inspire GTM teams to win more, in less time — the first-call deck, core narrative assets, and enablement that lets reps sell the full portfolio to a more sophisticated buyer.
  • Own external influence. Manage the Customer Advisory Board, analyst, and advocate relationships to advance Consensus' position in the market.
  • Drive product adoption and pipeline in partnership with Demand Gen, Sales, and CS — accountable for expansion and adoption outcomes, not just supporting activity.
  • Partner across Marketing to tell the Consensus product story and surface customer success across web, blog, social, and other channels.
