About The Position

The Director of Product Marketing leads Arena's Product Marketing organization, responsible for defining how Arena's Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Quality Management System (QMS) solutions are positioned, launched, and communicated to the market. This leader builds and develops a high-performing team that delivers product positioning, go-to-market strategy, customer advocacy, sales enablement, and market intelligence that drive customer acquisition, expansion, and retention. Working closely with Product Management, Sales, Customer Success, and Corporate Marketing, the Director ensures Arena's product portfolio is effectively positioned throughout the customer lifecycle—from new product introductions to customer expansion and advocacy. Success in this role requires deep expertise in the PLM and QMS markets, a strong understanding of modern product development and manufacturing processes, and the ability to lead teams that communicate complex technical capabilities to executive and technical audiences.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in B2B enterprise software Product Marketing.
  • 5+ years of experience leading and developing high-performing marketing teams.
  • Deep understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Quality Management Systems (QMS), and modern product development processes.
  • Demonstrated success developing product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies for enterprise software.
  • Strong understanding of engineering, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory workflows.
  • Experience marketing enterprise software to engineering, manufacturing, quality, and product development organizations.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to executive, business, and technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives within global, matrixed organizations.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team responsible for developing and executing the product marketing strategy for Arena's PLM and QMS portfolio.
  • Develop portfolio messaging, positioning, and value propositions that clearly communicate Arena's differentiated value.
  • Develop and maintain deep expertise in the PLM and QMS markets, customer challenges, competitive offerings, and emerging industry trends to serve as a trusted advisor across the organization.
  • Partner with Product Management to influence product strategy through market intelligence, customer insights, and competitive analysis.
  • Define target markets, buyer personas, and use cases that support growth across key industries including high technology, semiconductor, medical devices, industrial manufacturing, and aerospace & defense.
  • Translate company and business objectives into annual and quarterly product marketing plans, priorities, and execution strategies.
  • Lead the team responsible for planning and executing go-to-market strategies for new products, capabilities, and major releases.
  • Develop launch plans that align Product Management, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing around consistent messaging and execution.
  • Ensure product positioning is consistently represented across campaigns, digital channels, events, analyst engagements, partner programs, and sales enablement.
  • Partner with Product Management and executive leadership to support pricing, packaging, market segmentation, and commercialization strategies.
  • Lead product positioning and messaging for analyst evaluations, market reports, and executive briefings.
  • Lead the development of sales enablement content, including messaging guides, presentations, competitive battlecards, and customer-facing materials.
  • Equip Sales with the tools, messaging, and market insights needed to effectively position Arena in competitive opportunities.
  • Establish ongoing competitive intelligence and market research programs that identify opportunities, market shifts, and emerging trends.
  • Represent Arena at customer meetings, executive briefings, webinars, analyst engagements, and industry events.
  • Lead customer marketing programs that drive product adoption, customer expansion, and long-term customer value.
  • Partner with Customer Success and Sales to communicate new capabilities, product releases, and best practices that encourage cross-sell, upsell, and customer retention.
  • Build and manage customer advocacy programs, including customer references, testimonials, case studies, and success stories.
  • Identify and cultivate strategic customer champions to participate in conferences, webinars, analyst engagements, press activities, and other marketing programs.
  • Capture measurable customer outcomes that demonstrate the business value of Arena's solutions.
  • Gather customer feedback and market insights to strengthen product messaging and help shape future product direction.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Product Marketing team responsible for product marketing, customer marketing, and sales enablement.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top marketing talent while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish clear organizational priorities, team objectives, performance expectations, and success metrics aligned with company goals.
  • Translate strategic priorities into annual and quarterly execution plans, balancing resources across product launches, competitive positioning, customer advocacy, and go-to-market initiatives.
  • Build scalable processes that enable consistent execution across messaging, positioning, launches, sales enablement, and customer marketing.
  • Monitor business outcomes, proactively manage risks and dependencies, and adjust plans to ensure successful execution across a global, cross-functional organization.
  • Manage departmental budgets, external agencies, and marketing investments.
  • Foster strong partnerships across Product Management, Sales, Customer Success, Corporate Marketing, and executive leadership.
