The Director of Product Management (Commercial Technologies) leads the product strategy within the IT function, overseeing a team of Product Owners and the full product lifecycle. This role drives platform evolution, including upgrades, obsolescence management, and R&D initiatives, while identifying opportunities for product enhancements or replacements. Working closely with Product Owners and SaaS partners, the Director evaluates, prioritizes, and communicates new features, and ensures effective enablement through coordinated training efforts. This role also collaborates with external partners on product design and innovation, ensuring solutions remain aligned with evolving business needs. The Director plays a key role in shaping scalable, future-ready product strategies that support business growth and technological advancement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, complemented by extensive experience in technology solutions, product management, or consulting.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading product teams, with a strong background in product strategy development and execution.
  • Proficient in managing technical backlogs and collaborating with business stakeholders to prioritize enhancements and fixes effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical strategies to a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, capable of guiding a team of Product Owners towards achieving strategic objectives.
  • Knowledgeable in Agile and Scrum methodologies, with relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CSM, PMI-ACP) considered a plus.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, adept at managing complex projects and delivering innovative solutions.
  • Proven leadership capabilities, with the ability to drive strategic initiatives and inspire a team towards common goals.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills, capable of juggling multiple priorities and adapting to changing environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, effective in managing stakeholder relationships and navigating organizational dynamics.
  • Results-driven, with a focus on delivering tangible outcomes that drive business value.
  • Bilingual in English and French

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the strategic direction of product development and management, working closely with Product Owners, PMO and the business to ensure alignment with broader business strategies.
  • Lead the team implementing platform enhancements and bug fixes, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions to meet business needs.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs, translating these into technical requirements for the development and enhancement of products.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and suppliers, ensuring partnerships are effective and aligned with our product strategies.
  • Report on product strategy progress and outcomes to senior management, providing insights into the product lifecycle, from inception through to deployment and maintenance.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the IT team, encouraging innovation and the adoption of new technologies and methodologies.
