About The Position

LeanData is seeking a Director of Product Design to lead its design function and transform how revenue teams experience its platform. The role involves owning the design vision, improving design quality, and leading a team to create intuitive and powerful user experiences for complex orchestration workflows. This is a strategic role reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, with the mandate to make design a key differentiator for LeanData, especially in the context of AI. The position is hybrid, requiring two days per week in the office.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of product design experience, with significant depth in B2B SaaS, enterprise software, or workflow/operations tools.
  • 5+ years leading and growing design teams, including managing senior and junior designers and developing design talent.
  • A portfolio demonstrating mastery of simplifying complex, multi-step workflows into intuitive experiences, showcasing systems thinking.
  • Strong strategic instincts paired with deep craft.
  • Experience partnering as equals with Product and Engineering leadership.
  • Comfort with user research methodologies (JTBD, usability testing, journey mapping) and connecting insights to design decisions.
  • Knowledge of how to maximize design technology using platforms like Figma, Pendo, UserTesting, Claude, etc.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
  • Proficiency in modern design tools and eagerness to leverage AI-powered design and prototyping tools.
  • Genuine curiosity about B2B go-to-market operations and energy for learning the domain deeply.

Nice To Haves

  • Shipped products in domains where the UI is the product (workflow builders, visual editors, complex configuration tools, active or autonomous AI Assistants).
  • Experience designing for Salesforce ecosystem products or other CRM applications.
  • Background in revenue operations, marketing automation, or sales engagement tooling.
  • Familiarity with agentic AI patterns, LLM-powered UX, or intelligent automation workflows.
  • A track record of establishing or maturing a design systems practice from early stage to scale.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive LeanData's product design vision across Orchestration, Scheduling, Buying Groups, and emerging AI capabilities.
  • Translate complex enterprise workflows into simple, coherent, and elegant user experiences that scale.
  • Design AI-native orchestration experiences that shift users from manual configuration to intelligent automation.
  • Identify opportunities where design innovation creates measurable competitive advantage.
  • Set and maintain a high quality bar for interaction design, visual design, and systems thinking.
  • Build and evolve LeanData's design system, establishing scalable patterns to unify the product experience.
  • Champion AI-native design patterns that simplify configuration, surface insights, and reduce cognitive load.
  • Leverage data and insights on product utilization, drop-off, and engagement to inform user experience decisions.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of product designers, fostering a culture of craft, curiosity, and customer experience.
  • Facilitate designers' best work through critique, career development, and rewarding creative risk-taking.
  • Partner with the CPO on design hiring strategy and organizational design.
  • Partner deeply with Product Management and Engineering as part of product triads.
  • Embed user research, usability testing, and data-informed design practices into the product development lifecycle.
  • Represent design in executive and cross-functional forums.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate customer pain points into design priorities.
  • Design experiences that leverage Salesforce-native and cloud architecture without being limited by them.
  • Design for multiple personas, including RevOps admins, sales leaders, sales reps, and executives.
  • Think end-to-end across the customer journey: onboarding, day-to-day usage, expansion, and support.
