Director of Product - Client Success

Gifthealth Inc•Columbus, OH
•$142,000 - $180,000

About The Position

Gifthealth is seeking a Director of Product, Client Success Product to own how the company launches and grows programs for its largest clients, including the product, delivery, and team responsible for making that work happen. Reporting to the VP of Product, this director-level role supports the Product department and ensures alignment with organizational goals, operational excellence, and compliance standards. The Director is accountable for meeting client launch dates and deliverables while ensuring client-specific work supports the direction of the platform. The role requires product judgment about what to build, what not to build, and how to explain tradeoffs to engineering, leadership, and clients. The Director leads the Client Success Product team, which is responsible for program launches and ongoing growth. They own each client program’s product direction end to end, partner closely with platform product and engineering, and manage limited resources against client commitments. The team includes mostly more junior product managers focused on delivery and execution, as well as a small number of senior PMs dedicated to critical clients. The Director also represents product credibly in client-facing conversations. This is a full-time, exempt position with standard business hours and flexibility around client and launch schedules. The role may require availability for client conversations, launch milestones, or escalations tied to committed dates. Regular meetings with client success leads, platform product and engineering leads, clients, and the PM team are part of the work. The location is not specified in the source job description. The role requires working at a computer for extended periods; communicating effectively verbally and in writing; leading and facilitating client meetings, including executive-level conversations; and managing multiple concurrent programs and competing deadlines.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of product experience.
  • Director-level experience leading a team and owning delivery against external commitments.
  • Outcome-oriented approach: identify intended changes and assess whether they occurred, focusing on outcomes rather than shipped output.
  • High agency, including taking ownership of finding answers and bringing options when blocked.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and move quickly, choosing an appropriately lightweight approach to learning and decision-making amid changing or unclear client requests.
  • AI-forward approach, actively looking for ways to use AI in research, synthesis, writing, analysis, and prototyping.
  • Experience managing scarce engineering capacity against fixed dates, making difficult prioritization decisions, communicating them clearly, and maintaining them.
  • Experience balancing customer-specific work against shared platform work and explaining when each is appropriate.
  • Credibility in executive-level client conversations, including respectfully pushing back and clearly communicating product state and direction.
  • Demonstrated people leadership, including coaching and growing product managers, hiring effectively, and enabling team members to lead.
  • Strong data skills, including defining metrics, reading instrumentation, and evaluating whether programs are working.
  • Ability to partner across functions, especially with platform product and engineering.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Effective verbal and written communication with clients, leadership, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate client-facing meetings, including executive-level conversations.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent programs and competing deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare, healthtech, or pharma, ideally in a regulated environment.
  • Experience with enterprise or partner-driven programs such as patient support, hub services, or access programs.
  • Experience leading a team through scale or transition, including hiring, restructuring, or building a delivery model.
  • Hands-on experience with Linear.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product side of new client program launches, including scope, sequencing, risks, and decisions when tradeoffs are necessary to meet committed dates.
  • Own roadmaps for expanding and improving launched programs, tying work to outcomes that matter to both clients and Gifthealth.
  • Partner with platform product and engineering, understand current platform capabilities and limitations, and decide when client work should contribute to the platform or remain customer-specific; explain the rationale and cost of those decisions.
  • Manage and prioritize scarce capacity across programs against agreed dates, make scope inclusion and exclusion decisions, communicate them clearly, and hold those decisions when challenged.
  • Lead product conversations with clients about product state, program status, and future direction; make and explain yes, no, and not-yet decisions.
  • Coach, hire, and develop a team of primarily junior product managers; set the product craft bar and operating rhythm; determine where senior PMs are needed for critical accounts and support them in succeeding.
  • Align client success leads, engineering, design, and operations so launches ship and stakeholders understand program status.
  • Define metrics for program outcomes, instrument them with analytics, and hold the team accountable for results after launch.
  • Report to the VP of Product and support the Product department in meeting organizational goals, operational excellence, and compliance standards.
