About The Position

We are seeking a Director of Procurement to lead and optimize our procurement strategy, with a strong focus on vendor partnerships, cost management, and food service distribution. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our centers are supplied with high-quality, cost-effective, and compliant food and operational resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or CPSM preferred)
  • 7+ years of progressive procurement experience, including leadership responsibility
  • Strong experience in food purchasing, preferably in multi-site environments (childcare, education, hospitality, or healthcare)
  • Proven success in vendor negotiation and relationship management
  • Deep understanding of supply chain operations, cost control, and contract management
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and compliance standards
  • Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with organizational goals
  • Lead sourcing initiatives across food, supplies, and operational categories
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and standardization
  • Oversee procurement of food products across all centers, ensuring quality, safety, and nutritional compliance for our meal offerings
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to align purchasing with menu planning and licensing requirements
  • Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply risks to proactively adjust sourcing strategies
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with national and regional vendors
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, service-level agreements, and performance standards
  • Evaluate vendor performance and implement continuous improvement plans
  • Identify and onboard new vendors to enhance quality, reliability, and cost efficiency
  • Ensure procurement practices comply with regulatory requirements, including food safety standards
  • Establish and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and controls
  • Drive consistency across centers while allowing for regional flexibility where needed
  • Manage procurement budgets and track spending against targets
  • Deliver reporting and insights on cost savings, vendor performance, and purchasing trends
  • Collaborate with finance and operations teams on forecasting and cost planning
