About The Position

The Director of Procurement leads procurement activities across the Americas region, aligning regional purchasing with global strategies while supporting cost efficiency, supplier performance, risk management, and sustainable sourcing. The role partners with regional leadership to create value through supplier relationships, innovation, and continuous improvement. It calls for a seasoned procurement leader with regional market knowledge, experience in global organizations, and a record of leading diverse, high-performing teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of progressive procurement and supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
• At least 5 years in a regional or global leadership role within a large multinational company.
• Deep knowledge of sourcing practices, supplier management, and contract negotiation, with a proven track record of delivering cost savings and supplier performance improvements.
• Experience in a multinational, matrixed organization and driving procurement transformation.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.

Nice To Haves

• MBA or other advanced degree.
• Familiarity with large ERP systems; SAP experience is an advantage.
• Pulp and Paper industry exposure.
• Lean Six Sigma experience; Green Belt certification is a plus.
• Proficiency in Spanish and/or German.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies that support regional business goals and optimize supply chain efficiencies.
• Manage key supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure high standards of compliance and quality.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align procurement strategies with business objectives and operational needs.
• Oversee purchasing budgets and forecasting in line with financial targets and market demand.
• Identify supply chain risks and develop strategies to mitigate disruptions.
• Lead and develop the purchasing team, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
• Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings and strategic supplier partnerships.
